2023 Space City Shootout Model Car Contest and Scale Automotive Expo

Hey there, everyone!  This is Marc Havican - I used to write for Gregg and the magazine back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth!

The Houston Automotive Modelers Society is proud to present the 2023 Space City Shootout Model Car Contest and Scale Automotive Expo on Saturday June 17, 2023.  The show will be. held at the Bay Area Community Center, one mile east of NASA's Johnson Space Center on the shores of Clear Lake.

Many of you may remember that this is the same venue where we used to hold the Space City Nationals.  The BACC has been completely refurbished and updated, with nearly 10,00 square feet of vendor and model display area with all-new, super bright LED lighting and premium sound and video.

Gregg, Tim K, Jairus, Matt Usher, Pat Covert, Greg Nichols, Matthew Wells, and many others can tell you some great tales of their time at this contest, especially the Friday and Saturday night hijinks - go cart racing, behind the scenes tours of Risi Competitione at Ferrari of Houston, four-wheeling in a Hummer behind Crawdaddy's, fresh GUlf Coast seafood, tours of NASA JSC and Space Center Houston, and all of the incredible models and vendors!

Here is a flyer for the show and a few photos of the venue.  Please join some of the finest modelers on the Gulf Coast, along with builders and vendors from across the Louisiana - Texas - Oklahoma region.  We hope to see you on June 17!

Please note that Friday vendor set-up has been cancelled.

Vendors will be able to get into the building at 8:00 am on Saturday.

OK, another update.

Friday set-up is back on. 4-7 PM.
Confusion was with people at center not having their computer info up to date.

Yes, unfortunately the site was hacked. It will be some time before we have it up and running again.
