Welcome, Zach. Just so happens, there is a model show in the Houston area next weekend (May 4). IPMS/Houston Modelmania will be held at the Stafford Centre in Stafford, TX. More info can be found at IPMS-HoustonTX.org. The club meets for regular meetings at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday of every month at the Tracy Gee Center in Houston (near the West Belt & Richmond). There will also be a model car show in Seabrook, TX, on July 27. The Space City Shootout is put on by the Houston Automotive Modelers Society (HAMS). The HAMS facebook group page has more info. HAMS also has meetings at Tracy Gee, but at 7:00 PM on the second Friday of each month.

Box Stock Contest Rules

The point of Box Stock or Out Of Box is to build the kit only as the instructions state. But, yes, you found a loophole in poorly written rules. 🙂 -

Any US sources for Gunner Sangyo enamel paints?
vintagerpm replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I believe, Modelbau-Koenig has it wrong. I checked 4 other dealers and all refer to it as acrylic lacquer. GSI-Creos themselves merely call it a "solvent-based acrylic". But, if Mr Color is what you want, then buy it, no matter what the chemistry is. (I would advise using Mr Color thinner, though.) -

MR Hobby are aqueous paints and Mr Color are lacquer. I am not aware of any enamel paints made by Gunze-Sangyo. -

If you are refering to Mr. Color paints from Gunze-Sangyo, you can get them from Scalehobbyist, Sprue Brothers, and Andy's Hobby HQ. (I did not look to see if the specifically had "white pearl".) -

It is kind of an homage to the Disco Volantes of the 1950s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_Disco_Volante -

It is the Fujimi kit. The old Heller/Protar/&others kit is completely different (and supposedly even harder to build). -
I've actually done business with that shop. Good service. Found 2 sheets at Spot Model in Spain (although the second sheet is 1/27 scale): https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=53959 https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=56380

OK, here are the erros I spotted. Steering wheel spokes & shifter should be black in color. The most obvious error I could see is that the shifter should be down between the seat and chasis tube, not sitting on top of chassis tube. There should also be a white box attached to the underside of the body, above the dash, dead center of the windshield.
