speedy5963 Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 This model was built back in 97/98 and while it came out great, for sometime I’ve been thinking about switching up the interior and wheels, give it a little different look. Here are some shots of it and I’ll post some of the original interior and what I have going for the new one.
speedy5963 Posted May 25, 2023 Author Posted May 25, 2023 Here are couple overall shots, I'll post a few more up of the old interior and the new one I am working on in a bit 2
speedy5963 Posted May 25, 2023 Author Posted May 25, 2023 Here are a few shots of the original interior - at this point I had already popped off the photo etched handles to use on the new build
speedy5963 Posted May 25, 2023 Author Posted May 25, 2023 Here is what I have so far for the new interior: Paint was Createx Pealized White, I've had this laying around for a while and wanted to see how it looked compared to the HOK Snow White Pearl I like to use, overall wasn't bad, took a bit more to cover but also a lot more cost effective. The areas that are black will be flocked, the chrome trim is either foil or chrome pens. 1
speedy5963 Posted May 25, 2023 Author Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) Some progress pics from a little work this morning, laid down some black flocking, overall happy with it. I normally use model master or Tamiya clear, after watching a few YouTube videos I tried using straight paint, model master flat and semi gloss black. Also used some photo etched foot pedals. Slotto Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 I did the same thing not that long ago. Yours held up nicely over the years. Go go go 1
espo Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Nice improvement. The black floor carpet is more OEM looking and the Pearl White Vinyl look better. The added chrome detail trim makes a big difference as well.
ncbuckeye67 Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 I was going to suggest blue to match the exterior, but the black looks good as well. I love those baby moons though, sad to see them go.
redscampi Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 The new interior looks much more "real world". I could imagine seeing vinyl that color on a 1:1 car. Nice job!
atomicholiday Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Looks really good so far. I’m interested to see the finished product.
