The Phenom Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 hi boys! tommorow i give you a few updates of the 250tr,i work on a ferrari f1 2001 right now to post it this evening so stay tune!!
The Phenom Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 HI BOYS,HERE A LITTLE UPDATE .TODAY I TAKE TIME TO TEST FIT THE ENGINE PARTS TO SEE WHERE IT NEEDS WORK SINCE THIS IS A RESIN ENGINE IT NEEDS A LITTLE CLEAN UP AND PARTS FIT FIX ,THE SIX CARB BASES AND CARBS NEED A LITTLE CLEANING AND SMOOTHING TO FIT CORRECTLY,I TAKE TIME MEASURING AND TESTING THE HOOD AND CARBS FUNNELS TO SEE IF THE FUNNELS TOUCH THE HOOD.THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT TESTINGS TO GIVE A VERY SHARP AND CLEAN ASSEMBLY ,THE BLOCK HAS A LITTLE FLASH OVER THE FRONT TIMING COVER AND OTHER AREAS LIKE THE CENTER OF THE BELLHOUSING ,SO I CLEANED CAREFULLY WITH AN EXACTO BLADE AND THEN SANDED THE PART WITH A 600 GRIT,AS YOU CAN SEE THE ENGINE ITS ALMOST READY TO TEST THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND PIPES .I OPENED THE FRONT AIR SCOOP TO ADD A CURVED GRILL FROM STUDIO27.,ITS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO FIT IT TO THE CURVED OPENING BUT WITH A LITTLE PATIENCE WILL WORK i hope you enjoy boys .,until next weekend!!
The Phenom Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 hi guys here a little update! .,well i worked on the front windshield frame.the kit comes with a "molded in" frame on winshield but looks tricky so i filled the resesed area on the body with a molded stripe of styrene and glued with thick glue "CA" and sanded to smooth the area, then i aligned the PE part from studio 27 and drilled every hole on the PE frame to add this rivets to replicate the real ones .around 6 hours to complete, its a little difficult part to make but with patience and a little time will look great! thanks!
The Phenom Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) this is the car that im gonna replicate .,the chassis number is 0714tr. here the link! http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/rare-fe...aranello/print/ Edited March 23, 2009 by Ferrari Fan
The Phenom Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Did the car ever get finished? is almost ready .,sorry for reply late i was very busy workin in other models and i dont have enough time to enter to the forum to post but here a little bit this is the drivetrain and interior detail this is the engine almost finished and the fuel tank (the car hasn't one i think i could finish the model to the next year.
The Phenom Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 the car is in black basecoat right know so i need to clearcoat the model when i finish some body parts and undercarriage parts
The Phenom Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 this is the gauge panel ,i used a photoetch insert and a clear acetate faces to replicate the gauge glass ,the lever is made from metal wire and the knobs are rivets from model factory hiro
250 Testa Rossa Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SHE'S FINISHED! Are you adding the throttle linkage to the engine?
The Phenom Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 This picture was taken a month before the model was painted in basecoat.,sorry for post the pictures out of sequence i worked the rear section of the lower panel .,i scratchbuilded the tail pipe location holes because the model doesnt have that section complete.,look the pictures i opened the tailgate to locate the new fuel tank, since the model only comes with a little simulation of the lower part of the tank i constructed one from scratch to replicate a similar one of the real car (it was no easy to make it)
The Phenom Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SHE'S FINISHED! Are you adding the throttle linkage to the engine? yup! the throttle linkage is complete down to the return spring and bases see this picture
250 Testa Rossa Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Is the car going to have the covered headlamps, or the aluminum headlamp covers?
The Phenom Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Is the car going to have the covered headlamps, or the aluminum headlamp covers? ok the car goes with aluminum headlight covers ,the headlights comes with the kit but i decided to put it inside because i dont want to let the headlight holes opened since the headlights can be seen under the fender.
