Here's my take on the great Revell Miss Deal. I added chrome backs to the headlights then dropped clear varnish into them to give a pleasing yellow shine. I painted on the rear lights and threw away the push bar (foot) which to my mind just looked silly - and she does have a starter motor so it's not needed! I also added rear supports to the roll cage and moved the steering wheel and seat to a left hand drive setup. I cut down a dash panel with a couple of instruments from an old F1 kit and added that and also made a rear window 'cos it looks better that way!

I threw away the two-part body support strut as it looked clumsy and I could not fathom how and where it was supposed to fit. I also had to lower the entire cage and do some sanding of the front internal frame to get the stance just right - I dislike 'nose-up' gassers and street freaks! Let me know what you make of the stance I arrived at (looking at you Bill!)

I've wanted this model since I was 15 years old - finally got one fifty years later. Not perfect but I love it ?

The kit is showing it's age but I thoroughly enjoyed building it - and it looks great on display with the Vette and the Charger.

It came out really nice those headers can be a real pain in the neck. I can remember when that kit was reissued in the early nineties. I was in my early twenties I went completely nuts , and bought 10 of them

Such a cool car!

I have no idea how many of those kits that I've scavenged parts from. Strangely, I have never built the intended version.

Thanks all for your kind comments

Yes the headers were a pain, but then there were a few fitment issues, mainly due to the age of the mouldings I guess.

Cheers,

-Don.

Thanks Robert

The headers were chrome originally. I really recommend this kit for a taste of old skool modelling!

Your model looks great! I like the choice of colors you used on everything. I've heard lots of bad things about this kit and it appears all your hard work turned in to something nice.
