I came to a conclusion what to to with this project it took me 4 months to figure it out. Im building the GTX to look just like the one in this picture.

Heres the progress so far i already have the frame painted i gave it a mist coat of Dupli-Color Orange Mist whis the car will be the same color. Its gonna have the kits Hemi under the hood instead of the kits 440 ci i originally planned. The wheels are from a Revell 69 Shelby Mustang kit . What ya'll think.

Uhhh,Rick, you do know the picture is of a 69 ROADRUNNER, don't you? Not tryin to but funny, cas it used to happen ALOT back in the day.;)

George- I know the 1:1 car is a Road Runner. Im building a Road Runner clone out of my GTX but thanks for the reminder though. Im building the GTX to look just like the one in the pic.

Rick, your downgradeing to a RoadRunner from a GTX? You do know the GTX WAS just a jazzed up RoadRunner? Usually you'd see someone doing this the other way around, but hey, it IS your car, so what do I know? But if it comes out as nice as it looks, it'll be sharp too! :D (LOVE them 69 B-bodies!)

Over the weekend i managed to get the wheels painted i used Dupli-Color Chrome thats what i had in my shed i was gonna paint them Silver but i didnt have any i tried the chrome it doesnt look too bad. I also finally have a pic of the Hemi its kinda crappy as you can see im not that great at photography. I threw on a set of Competition Resins "M/T" valve covers that i got from member Big Gary. A Big Thanks. What ya'll think so far into this build.

Glad you could use the M/T valve covers so well. I also am a fan of B body Mopars. This motivates me to work on the '69 Super Bee I'm upgrading to an R/T. It is to duplicate a car a friend had in Jr. College.

I finally got some paint on this one over the weekend instead of going with the Go Mango shown on the 1:1 car i went with a different approach i went with Dupli-Color Orange Mist and i also went with a set of Brembo disc brake kit that came from a Aoshima kit. Since the kits rear axle wouldnt work with the rear wheels i went with a Revell 69 Charger rear axle which fits perfectly also the kits leaf springs will be moved inboard to accomadate the wheels. What ya'll think.

You asked, So, here goes. Ya GOTTA raise the rear end just a tad, the tires don't really flow with a reverse rake like that. If it's not the final height, well, jus ferget it! Them wheels/tires might be a TAD to big for it. They look like 20's, an I'd go with no larger than 17's, MAYBE 18's,depending on the style. Ya gotta keep the lines flowin Daddy-O, ya DON'T want it lookin like them toy's at the 'Mart. But I DOES be likein nat color!!!:lol:

I did that same color on a caprice of mine, on my car i think it leans more towards a copper rather than an orange color. Anyway it is a cool color none the less. Great job on the GTX.

I changed out the wheels i wanted to give it a little old school flavor. What ya'll think.

George- Thanks for pointing out that i need to jack up the rear i still need to add the leaf springs & paint the rear axle. I hope you like the Centerlines instead of those oversize wheels.
