I want to do the 1963 show car and use this kit as the basis.  I have the parts, just need the time.

Where does the roof come from? I don't recognize it, Len. 🧐

Believe it or not AMT offered that roof as a custom option on I believe the 64 T-Bird kit. I think it's 64 just don't have it in front of me right now.

In due time. I have so many potential projects sitting in boxes on the floor I can't always get to the bench.😂

Jeez, I missed this one somehow…so I’m sorry I haven’t contributed my share of BS as requested.😬 Really nice work on it so far Jim!👍😎  I like the door handle and center console mods. And I have this kit so I’d like to thank you for digging up all those reference pictures for me! It will save me hours of surfing when I get around to building mine. Carry on.🙂

Yup, a juvenile delinquent, in my estimation. 👮‍♂️

Just a few pix from my somewhat diminished efforts this fine Monday. I got the front and rear buttoned up. The rear bumper/tail lights thing, for some unknown reason, wouldn't seat so I had to remove material from the mating areas until I was OK with the fit.  Maybe I knew and totally forgot about the fit. When I attempted the windshield wipers I discovered I had the wrong ones....so where's the right ones? Uh oh, I musta put 'em on the Plymouth cuz that's where these are from.  Gotta do that tomorrow. 😅

Nice work on the foiling too! I didn’t know Ford and Plymouth wipers were interchangeable.😜

Well Greg, there was really only one way for me to find that out and I found it! You may go from T-bird to Plymouth but not Plymouth to T-bird.  The T-bird has deep recesses for mounting the wiper and the Plymouth just has some holes. Everything from the past two years has parts and pieces in various small containers all over the bench. That, in and of itself, is not the problem. My memory is. There's at least four more cars in various phases of construction waiting for my magic touch. I've got to get a handle on this mess. I need a drink.

What a beauty and I love the opening console door.  I hadn't seen that applied in any of the model car build threads Ive ever looked at.  I have seen that idea in a old model car magazine from the '60's along with flip down sun visors.   I have to say this build is really inspiring, Ive got a ancient '62 Bird kit I was keeping around as its probably as old as I am.  Never figured Id touch it - but now I have seen what a classy car they actually were and how well this kit builds up..

Correction - my AMT T Bird is a '66 model.

Well that's a horse of a different color, Sean.  I have a '66 full custom that I need to button up after I finish with this one. It's a completely different animal in that the '66 kit is based on an old screw-bottom annual.  I will be digging that thread out soon enough

Wow that purple '66 is cool !!  Thanks for showing those pictures..                                                                                                                                                                     Years ago I saw a purple T Bird at Good Guys in Spokane WA, it was like "plum crazy" purple and it carried it rather well.  When I dug '66  kit out yesterday I noticed the custom parts. In all my years modeling Ive never used those extra items - beings it is such a plain kit the thought entered my mind to use them and maybe even a extended rear bumper to put a spare tire like the old Lincolns ???  That would be a definite "get out of my comfort zone build"

You can get out of your comfort zone for sure with this kit, Sean. There's plenty to keep you busy.
