Wes from WMCC is an old modeling buddy of mine.  I used to go to Bowman Gray every week religiously.  I did graphics for Chris Fleming before the Madhouse cable TV show. These are why I absolutely had to build these.  I built the Burt Myers car first and learned the "curiosities" of building the kit.  My ex wife worked at same company as him back in the 90s so that was a connection there.

I love how these kits turn out.  Prototypically low.  Aggressive.  Yes you have to actually do some mods and figure out some stuff, but great kits of the subject matter.

I have one going, going with a Richie Evans tribute. Some of the instructions are sketchy, but a well made kit. I have 3 of them, but look for the ones with the extra parts pack included.

Those look great!  I have yet to start mine, any hints/tips on construction?

There's a few tips needed to put these together.  On Facebook, there is a thread about it on the Styrene Addictions page.

The rear axle is a little complicated, introductions are a bit too vague.

The engine fit can be tricky, as well as all the little bars and panels.

Test fit everything several times and understand what's happening before you put any sort of strong adhesive to it.  This is possibly the most tricky kit I've ever built.

Drew Hirerwater and Clay Kemp have some good stuff on these as well.

Good luck when you get started.  Wes is really good about trying to help folks.  You may want to check him out Facebook if you're on there.

Lately I have been pinning fiddly parts together with either brass rod or stainless steel pins from McMaster Carr. It does help a lot and these kits will surely need some help.

One of the tricks with these is to assemble as much of the cage and frame as possible before paint.  Leave the top bars unglued, but put them in place so that the pins and holes stay bare.  Or have a drill bit on hand to clean the holes.  Clearances are tight on this kit.  Way more than what most models are used to.

And all the cage bars have to fit properly for the rest of the kit to fit.  The engine is tough to get in place and the rear end is kinda vague all the way around as to how to get it in properly if you don't understand how a real modified is put together.

Pinning is a great idea and it may help you.  I didn't use any on any of the 3mods so far

I have to look at how far I got with the cage, which is mostly painted, not sure if the top bars are in place, maybe on one side. I have the engine 100% built up and it looks good. I have the rest of the parts cleaned up, some primed, some not.
