BIG E Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 I grew up in Minnesota and got an interest in models @ age 16, since then I have built well over 350 models and still have about 150 or so in boxes awaiting the bench. I did not build steadily since I served 21 years in the military. I should also mention I have built about 100 military models and probably another 50 or sixty to build. Most challenging was the 1/35th scale soldiers. You have to be very careful, or the carpet monster eats their very very small parts. I used to use spray cans and enamel paints. Non it's all acrylic and Iwata air brushing. Enough about me. I recently took an interest in these motorless models. It's a challenge to give them firewalls, radiators and motors. First one I did was the Ford Raptor, then the jeep Rubicon and finally the 59 Dodge Royal Lancer. The 59 was the biggest challenge, no interior, motor or chassis. 57 Chrysler was an almost perfect donor. photos to follow starting with Raptor.
SpikeSchumacher Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Welcome Warren! That darn carpet monster has foiled us all at one time or another...?
Rattlecan Dan Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Welcome Warren! Hope you will enjoy the Forum. Looking forward to viewing your builds.
