fordh8r Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 This thing is c-l-e-a-n! My kinda build. Are those bed side fences part of the kit? or scratch built? They look pretty cool on there.
DR Dubois Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Very nice Plumnuts. Really like that hinged hood with the air struts!
Randy Kern Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Beautiful build, Mike! A nice, low and clean truck, my favorite style. You really did a great job on the bed, that wood looks just like the real thing. I'll have to try some of the tricks you did, like the tilt hood. Love it!
Steven Zimmerman Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Great lookin truck; I love the color too....what color, type, paint brand is that? (like the struts too, hafta try that)..........Steve Zimmerman aka the'Z'man
plumnuts Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 figured I would answer the questions that have been asked so far. yes the bed railes are part of the kit. done with a new trick to me, painted first with testers wood color. then painted again with tamiya trans. orange. stearing wheel and bed floor got the same treatment. now the body was sprayed with HOK dreamsicle then cleared with tamiya pearl clear TS65. thanks for looking.

plumnuts Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 well, I have stepped into the world of BMF. I can definatly see why some shy away from it, (very delicate stuff. but I told myself to stick with it and I can tell a differance between where I started and where I stoped so thats good. I'll keep on trying and hope to get better. ,but wanted to show you guys and see what you think. I kinda like it with the foil!
Tumbler75 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I think the BMF adds jus' the right touch to break up the colour and gives it something to tie the wheels in with. Great work! I love the concept and look of this unique truck!
george 53 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 WOW Plum, that came out NICE!!!! See what a lil chop and a nice coat of paint can do? I STILL think that is one UGLY truck in stock form, but you certainly have made an "ugly duckling" into a SWAN!!!! GREAT BUILD!!!!
GHoneycutt Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Nice looking truck, I love what you did with the hood and struts.
coolplastic Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 One sweet truck!!! I do have one question. What color is the steering wheel? It looks perfect
plumnuts Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 One sweet truck!!! I do have one question. What color is the steering wheel? It looks perfect the steering wheel got the same treatment as the bed floor and rails. testers wood color paint with tamiya trasparent orange brushed over it. really works for a real wood look.
coolplastic Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Transparent orange... I never thought of that, cool tip thanks!!!!
plumnuts Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 hay cool plastic thanks for looking, the transparent orange for the wood is very cool. and I was thinking it woulden't work when randy told me about it ,but hay you never know till you try and this one went out of the park.
