plumnuts Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 well after figuring the putty I had was old and bad(who knew it has a shelf life?) I picked up some new stuff and made the repairs to the roof where it cracked. I think it turned out ok. don't think I would ever take it to a show ,but It should make a good conversation piece. (you did what to a shelby mustang? ) the back actually worked. enjoy the pics and go build somthing!

fordh8r Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Nice chop! Very clean assembly of the body. Is that a Dodge magnum roof line? or something else? Either way, it looks great!
plumnuts Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Nice chop! Very clean assembly of the body. Is that a Dodge magnum roof line? or something else? Either way, it looks great! back section of the roof is from a lexus. the full build up is on the bench.
karbuildr Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I think it's excellent, certainly out of the ordinary, very cool.
1967mustang Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 that is just WRONG!!!!!!!!! i never thought id see the day where there would be a mustang station wagon.but hey i will admit its very interesting1
sfhess Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 VERY nice design and build!!!! For those astonished at the idea of a Mustang wagin, it's not exactly a brand-new concept...... I saw one several years ago that used the rear portion of a 65 Country sedan roof, including those air deflector scoops at the rear corners that kept part of the back window clean.

James Flowers Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 That turned out nice . You should be proud to take it to a show.
george 53 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Not detracting ANYTHING for your build, there was a similar build up of a station wagon Mustang in SA last year. His came out just as nice as yours. The lines do lend themselves to that conversion quite well. You did a GREAT job, looks like it would sell well in the real world!
plumnuts Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 thanks alot guys for the words. It means alot to me and helps motivate me to cut up somthing else. the funny thing is, this build was just a joke that worked out. I was having a hard time getting motivated with the kit and my wife came in and was saying give it to your son and get somthing else, well as a joke I said I'm gona make it a wagon. with the "yea right" as she left the room I grabed the saw and a doner body from the part box and went to it. after getting it tacked together and showing her as a joke ,both her and I liked it, so the rest is history.
DR Dubois Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Very interesting indeed!! Bring it to the show and shock the hell out of the purists. I would!
