Jürgen M. Posted December 4, 2023 Author Posted December 4, 2023 Got the tires today. Rear wheels are ready to mount. Front wheels aren´t ready yet. They´re not as nice as I hoped, therefore one more round of printing! 1
Jürgen M. Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) Yeah, the tires and the printer have arrived! ? VID_20231205_130923.mp4 Edited December 6, 2023 by Jürgen M. 2
Jürgen M. Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 Hi everyone, There´s some progress to report: The rack which holds the exhaust pipe and the air filter is mounted, as well as the just named parts: The cap on the exhaust pipe actually works. it opens and closes. 2
Jürgen M. Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 Now the exhaust pipe and air filter are connected! ? 3
Jürgen M. Posted December 12, 2023 Author Posted December 12, 2023 (edited) Hi everyone, finally there's more progress! Didn't have much time recently, that's why it took so long! Edited December 12, 2023 by Jürgen M. 1
Jürgen M. Posted December 12, 2023 Author Posted December 12, 2023 But it's not finished yet! There's more to come! ?
Rockford Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 That's fantastic! It must be very rewarding to see it all come from your own efforts. Well done.
Jürgen M. Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 Thank you! Actually you're right. It's quite satisfying to see how the self designed parts fit together and moving parts work. I,'m very aware of the fact that not all parts, including the cab, Look entirely authentic but I try to improve my designing with every new model. Anyway, I think this one's gonna look good one the shelf with all the other trucks. I'll keep you updated on the progress so stay tuned! ?
Jürgen M. Posted December 14, 2023 Author Posted December 14, 2023 (edited) Here are some pics of the completed truck. What comes on top will be confidential until the first working parts are printed and assembled! The suspense must be maintained! ? Till soon! Edited December 14, 2023 by Jürgen M. 3
Jürgen M. Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 Hi Guys! I'm back with more! ? Hope you like it! It's going to be a container carrier like the one's you see in harbors. The 20" container will also be selfmade. I know Italeri has one in it's portfolio but I wanted to print one. Anyway, this ist the way I build the two cranes. The piston rods are steel, also the axles of the crane sections. The rest ist printed. And below you can see the way it looks now. These are the supports so the Truck doesn't tilt over when lifting up a container! They won't be synchronized or anything. Just wanted them to work manually. As soon as the container ist finished, I'll show you more! the side walls are printed. Had to split them up due to the maximum size of printable parts being 20 x 20cms. Good thing I've got two printers working now. That's why the parts Look a little different. There are two different kinds of filament in use. 2
Jürgen M. Posted December 20, 2023 Author Posted December 20, 2023 Got the 20" container finished. Even put some dents and rust in it. Not too much but enough to make it look used. This is it: Hope you like it! That's all Folks for this year. I haven't yet decided what's next but I'll tell you as soon as I know! Till then I Wish everyone in the forum a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Please stay healthy and keep modelling as if it we're going out of style! Bye till next year. Yours, Jürgen 1
Jürgen M. Posted December 20, 2023 Author Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) Thank you! ? It was fun building it! Some things didn´t turn out exactly like I had imagined but I´m satisfied after all. I´ll be trying out new parameters of printing to improve the surface quality and I hope the next one will turn out even better. Anyway it was fun sharing my experiences with printing truck models. It will be hard to decide what to do next. I´ll take my time and hope the ideas will just flow during the holidays. I was already thinking about the Coca Cola Truck from the Coke ad. You know, the one from the Christmas TV-Ads! Including illumination. But I´m not sure yet! Edited December 20, 2023 by Jürgen M.
Rockford Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Jürgen That is something else! The question is, how do you beat that with your next one? It's like the men who went to the moon, anything else is a bit too run if the mill. ?

It's like the men who went to the moon, anything else is a bit too run if the mill. ? Thanks Rockford! I'm flattered! Didn't expect such great feedback. After all, when I look at all the models you guys build with an unbeatable perfection, it's really a great compliment! ? Hope I can still compete with my next project. But before I start something completely new I'll do another workover on my R.D.! I printed a new sleeper cab and I'll do some cosmetic work on the bullbar and the wheels. They're scale 1/24 since the frame and chassis are from a Ford 9000 LTL from Italeri! I want to adjust those to 1/25 so the truck doesn't look too large compared to the trailer and the other trucks! After that I'll decide what comes next. Maybe another Convoy truck! ? I was thinking about "Big Nasty" or "Bruhn Trucking"!
gotnitro? Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Excellent work ! I really enjoyed the detailed photos along the progress
Jürgen M. Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 Thanks! I'm always open for ideas though. I actually thought that I hadn't made enough pictures. ?
cifenet Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Amazing result! Those lifts are great additions to the already great looking truck!
Jürgen M. Posted December 22, 2023 Author Posted December 22, 2023 Thanks very much! I'm very Happy about all your positive feedback! Wow! Hope my next project will be at least close to this! ?
Scott Eriksen Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Great job! That Autocar evolved from the old White Road Expeditor if I recall
