Hello all.

I’ve started on a rendition of Jimmy Addison’s silver bullet, GTX, test mule car.

I’m using the Revell Sox and Martin GTX kit as a base.

I’ll try to keep

posting pics as I go.

the 1:1 version had the quarter panels “flared” at the wheel opening. Most renditions skip this step. I used a hair dryer and stretched the openings, and then some glazing putty to smooth things out.

anyhow, here it is: 1A54E2A3-41A2-4B5A-A089-419D0A3FB07D.thumb.jpeg.a3b500f64dcc47cc9c2ee94896817bd5.jpegpop6036F0AE-9FE7-44C5-AB6A-66856D7E05BE.thumb.jpeg.e99947f5c945fccd4f1a89e83fdaa929.jpeg59224074-5242-48BD-9EA9-003515DEF55D.thumb.jpeg.049300b4dd83c2fcf70d04fb5879e5cb.jpegB71DA870-ADEC-4CFD-A45C-432107847583.thumb.jpeg.e0639d9c0c0dd0efa4d468cffcc462a4.jpegB71DA870-ADEC-4CFD-A45C-432107847583.thumb.jpeg.e0639d9c0c0dd0efa4d468cffcc462a4.jpeg15BAA870-1753-4DE2-8C8D-256DD15AECF6.thumb.jpeg.7fbd75a75066e877bfe4f5e829b92b94.jpeg4DF9E572-2786-400A-8D02-57951A0645F4.thumb.jpeg.3bcdde80137a4990568947b72bbfa4ca.jpeg9117D23B-6B7B-47E5-9D27-BD51DC5B7B14.thumb.jpeg.4628c9b20578ec310c0e83e9bde8504e.jpeg

The 1:1 SB had the rear seat removed.
i sectioned out the rear seat and built a “back seat delete” panel from styrene stock.

I plan on using embossing powder to replicate the carpet that was in the 1:1 version. B9550F0A-CB15-4CA5-956C-77133CAEDA60.thumb.jpeg.ece6dab42cc93c078b904cf1fcf71ded.jpegBF24AE93-4C03-4AE4-BA03-4377ADBBB316.thumb.jpeg.c6e5898e326e0d7e9e7c8493323d7176.jpeg5B379B62-E5A0-491E-B9C6-CD8FEBE1A27A.thumb.jpeg.cf8687e9bb4769e958f63eae2c55b2bf.jpeg

The 1:1 version used 4 Cadillac mufflers In an attempt to control the noise. I made the pipes and turn downs from 1/8” styrene rod. This is my attempt:

Looking spot on Robert.  I was lucky enough to see Jimmy’s car at Cobo Hall Detroit about 10 years ago.  Keep on rocking your awesome replica!

A little more detailing on the exhaust pipes. I made the crossover and fitted it up. 44DB16EE-763F-4CC4-AC08-9670A1D1C7AE.thumb.jpeg.41cba65b2f3b56e3574497d59a3a7072.jpeg9E921DA0-B36A-4F70-8A2B-47B39E73B1B1.thumb.jpeg.3290cc5fa8ff534ba16dc8e6e1b574ca.jpeg

my Alclad should be here tomorrow.
I’m looking forward to experimenting with it on this project. ?

I shot the exhaust with Alclad, today.

I used “Magnesium” on the pipes and Aluminum on the mufflers.

I used some Tamiya panel line black to wash it a bit.

it’s not done, but I like the way it’s turning out9B37050F-F54A-49D0-BBC5-32FE80D8948F.thumb.jpeg.bc6b58237b99a9cb9dcc9e5e48e7e9b1.jpeg4CCD332D-3D44-4FB4-8D3B-1333B6A5B4B5.thumb.jpeg.7f127efd3ecaafa5e51c50ca72829c59.jpeg9FBFC910-8085-4C0B-909A-7033CB9469EE.thumb.jpeg.5fd73af6f70fc4a6a06faddd64ed1052.jpeg

I’ve been working on the exhaust. I decided to pin the pieces, as there was way too much happening to try to fit it up without support.

here’s a pic of the pinned parts:

Super-nice work! I'm a firm believer of pinning parts. It makes test fitting so much easier, and more accurate.
