Smart-Resins Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Well, I got this glue bomb off of unforgiven here. Only took me like over half a year to persuade him to finially mail it. LOL. Actually it took me that long to tell him yes I wanted it, send it NOW!! LOL. I had to find some missing parts for it. Now that I have everything that I want for it and it has been all stripped, I can paint it and put it together. The color is I think sea foam metalic green? I removed all of the trim and belt lines and smoothed it out. Then I frenched the head lights. I then glued on the seperate sun visor, filled it in and smoothed it out to mold it into the body. I have painted the body, but ran out of the paint and still need to touch up a couple of the bed parts, so have to wait a week to finish the body. This is without any clear gloss on it! It will ride on white walls sporting cragar rims and will be motorvated with the BBC from the 1970 1/2 baldwin motion camaro. Thanks for looking. Jody
george 53 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Jody, does that paint shift colors with the light? In the 1st pic it doesn't even LOOK like the color in the 2nd pic. I kinda preffer the blue.Never seen paint change shades so extremely before. But Green or Blue, It'll be a real looker when your done!
moparmagiclives Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Great color and I love the molded visor ....but what is a glue bomb anyway? looks to be a pretty good shape.
GOTH KUSTOMS Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) It wasnt a glue bomb, more like a paint bomb, you did more to it in a month then I did holding on to it for 3 years, good job Edited March 20, 2009 by unforgiven
Smart-Resins Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Thanks everyone for the kind words. Unforgiven, this will be one that I finish and not too long from now! Jody
Smart-Resins Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 Hello. I have a small update on this. I have painted the frame a dark metalic grey and the suspension componets flat black. I have gluued on the leaf springs, rear end and front axle. Now working on the shocks and sway bar. I still need to touch up and finish painting the body and move onto the motor and interior. I have changed directions on the wheels. I was going to use white walls, but think these look better. However, I can only find three matching ones! Does anyone else have one for me!! Any help would be great. Thanks. Jody
CB Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 ooohh .....only 3 wheels & tires. That's a tuff one Jody. I knows I has some Cragars, but don't know about them tires, but I'll look. That's almost sacreligious --3 Cragars!? Although things do happen. Years ago, my co-worker was selling his cherry 1:1 '57 Chevy with Cragars all around. Some kid took it for a test drive and right in front of the gas station I was working at, the hub of the Cragar (up front/passenger side) seperated from the spokes, the wheel/tire just fell sideways and the hub/drum dropped into it, and he skidded safely to a stop! Smart kid-- he wound up buying it. Oh yeah, truck is looking fine
