Excellent pair of frames there mate, they look great. Always impressed with your jobs.

Is that Detroit the one I've discovered in the Ford LTL9000? I'm thinking of learning to cast pieces just to cast this engine or maybe even just the transmission because in cabovers their often visible.

Thanks for the kind words, Yes the motor is from the ford, cast in resin from homemade moulds, the gear box is mounted in both frames. It`s worth having a go at casting , I use 3 & 5mm foam board for the boxes, cheaper than plastic. mould & casting materials from DWR Plastics ltd.

Thanks for the reply, I have another frame to make a mould & cast frames to save time on the next builds.

You've really got me thinking. I'll have a look at a few tutorials.

Very innovative mate, impressive stuff.

Thanks Steve, I find locating & using parts to fit all part of the fun.

I can't even see items in 1/32! Amazing work! I don't know if this will show up in 1/32, but the center vertical grille bar is a little thicker than the other two. I don't know if it's possible to do in 1/32, but I thought I'd throw it out there. I also agree with you...casting parts is a skill I couldn't do without!

Hi, I have made 2 grille's 1 to try then another to mould with adjustments, I can either fir it with surround or cut the grille itself to fit. one thing i have used in this build is a big box of hindsight. I should have included the grille in the cab before making the mould. I might cast another cab with it & the bustle back fitted. i made it from ho scale cladding , I plan to spray it chrome then infill with black. Thanks for looking.

Hi, Managed to get paint on some parts despite bad weather, summer has been damp, today 5/9/24 is wet ,cold & dark so no painting today, Both cabs painted 1 green & 1 white-still drying. I have made moulds for lights & other cab fittings. the exhausts are 3mm round solder. Started the interiors, I intend to make another as a master for moulding hopefully. Thanks for looking.

How did I miss THIS?? Wow, what a top job in design, casting and engineering. Those trucks look perfect. Very impressive work. One built as a Hayes would be REALLY cool as it would be the only one in the world. And they were built right here in British Columbia. Keep going with this build, this is really interesting.

These are looking great! You're very ingenious how you go about things. I feel your pain on the paint front, been a nightmare summer here in the UK. These tractors would look good with the AMT van or reefer trailers.

Thanks Steve, I don`t think it rained this much up north where i was born. I was thinking of a low loader with an old cat on board for 1 of them.

Hi, I have just finished the interiors & moulded the windscreen , full door panel in clear acetate with decals for lower panel, Looks lighter than it is, I formed the windscreen with a 2 part wooden male & female mould heated the acetate with a heat gun then pressed together to get the shape. Interiors from plastic card with steering wheels form wire & 2mm rod, also made a few decals with dials. They are not exact replicas but fill a gap. Probably not much of it will be seen. I will make a new interior in sections so i can cast it in resin. Thanks for looking.

Ingenious idea for your door panels!  Your windshield solution looks to be as good as or better than vacu-forming - nice clean edges - terrific job!
