Dingo Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 This little rig is made of cardstock and took me about 2 weeks to build, the tyres have tread that have been cut and glued to the rest of each wheel and each wheel is made of 4 parts. This is what the wheels look like before being assembled. Dingo
Dingo Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 Thanks Foxer, once you know how to build them they are easy to do the only thing you have to remeber is to keep ya finger clean of glue and if you use sup glue not to stick to it. dingo
george 53 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 WOW Dingo, that's cool! With all those flat panels, it looks like it wouldn't be to hard to build in plastic! It sure is unique! Who knows, maybe I'll try it! Yours looks great!
Dingo Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 Thanks George, I hope you do give it a go but remember it will take a lot of ink from the printer and if the family uses it for other printing as well they might just kcik up a stink wehn you out of ink. It is good fun and it took me about 4 months before I got to where I was game enough to show my builds on the net, I do have a few wrecks in my den/hobby room. I wish more plastic model builders would try cardstock (paper) just to see how easy plastic is. Dingo
fordh8r Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 So you printed the panels on your own printer at home? Wow! I see what you mean by difficult. Is there a program for setting up the printer for each panel? Pretty cool! I don't think I'll be doing this anytime soon, but maybe sometime.
Dingo Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 fordh8r no is no need to set up the printer to print of any of my models as they are printed straight onto A4 cardstock. Dingo
Jim B Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Dingo, I hear you about the difficulty of cardstock models. I tried the Mayflower once, and it was a disaster. Didn't I see this & the Freightliner on another forum? They look familiar.
Dingo Posted March 23, 2009 Author Posted March 23, 2009 Jim, it's possible you have seen those 2 trucks on another forum I am on about 4 or 5 other forums but have quit a couple of them now, it's just been so impossible for me to keep up with them so I've picked the best and stayed with those.
