I haven't built a model in about ten years, so hopefully this will turn out the way I want it to. I started with a '70 Chevelle and added a '70 Monte Carlo (mostly for the wheels) I liked the Monte kit alot and decided to use more then just the wheels.

I did a quick mock up and this is the stance I want to accomplish.

After looking at the Monte kit for awhile I liked the firewall and fender wells better then the ones on the Chevelle. This is the first time that I am modifying a kit with another, I am learning alot as I go. I still need to do some finish work on the fender wells and firewall.

I also liked the chasis better, as I looked at the two kits I realized that the only thing I liked about the Chevelle was the body and engine. The chasis didn't fit too well but I can make it work, I'm going to have to channel the frame into the floorpan to make it fit right under the body. Also the floorpan isn't wide enoght to fit the body so channeling the fram will give me the width I need.

I hope you like, and wish me luck.

Well, outside of being 2 different scales.

You're diffidently jumping with with both feet.

IF it looks right, it's right..

You got some cool mods going already.

Are those the wheels from the Monte?

Nice..

Like to see how this finishes up..

yes, those are the wheels from the monte, they are stagered sizes. The kit came as a 2 in 1, stock and a lowrider.

Does it have the stock car wheels and cage in that Monte kit? That's one reason I have not picked it up yet. The pics on the box make it out to be a primed and half painted street car instead of the car used on F and F. The F and F car had no front fender wells and it had a cage and sheet metal interior with racing buckets. I figured if it wad not in the lit I'd have to hunt up those parts.

the kit does come with the stock wheels, a standard hoop roll cage and racing buckets. The interior is stock, it also has a battery rack and hydro pumps for the trunk. I'll get some pictures up alittle later.

Nope it doesn't come with any of those parts. I just bought that kit last weekend to make a dirt car out of it. If anyone wants those giant wheels that came in mine you're welcome to them. I'll never use them for anything. But to answer your question it is definitely not a replica from F & F. If you wanna make the movie car you'll have to do some kit-bashing.

Thanks. That's exactly what I figured form the box photos and such. Just did not know of anyone that had bought one yet.

I'd be happy to take those wheels off your hands. Let me know.

The Chevelle got put on the back burner for awhile. I need some styrene but the hobby shop I go to is out, it's cool it gave me a chance to work on my '66 Nova. I also had a question for anyone that is willing to listen. How do I change the Title and or description of a Post?

Thanks

Should be an option on your screen to edit your original post title and all when you select your post. I think that is right. It's been awhile since I edited a post.
