need some 1:1 scale car help

Recommended Posts

i'm working on filling some big holes on a center console that i'm using in my hot rod, real car.

I'm using some plastic from the center console itself but need some advice on what kind of glue and enforcements to make to keep this hole covered up.

Use same material .

Cut up small pieces and drop them in a jar of acetone to make a glue like consistency mixture.

Cut some pieces to fill the bulk of the hole and glue in from front and backside.

Once dry....sand and paint.

I've used this method to fix multiple plastic grills in old cars

Depends entirely on the specific materials the console is made from.

I do stuff like this for a well-paid living, and without knowing exactly what the base material is, and what the structure looks like, there's no way I'd make a recommendation.

But that's just overcautious-old-man me.

EDIT: Of course, my solutions always work, and don't crack or fall apart later...so there's that.

I'm going outside to shout at some clouds now.
