CAL...YOU ARE ALL OVER THIS THING

DO YOU THINK AUDI HAS LEMANS ON THE BAG THIS YEAR WITH THE NEW MODEL

OR PEGEOT STILL TO CLOSE.

Yeah, I am compliling the the grand master list with all entrants, finishers, DFS, DQ, Un-Classed, and NO-SHOWS.

There are three kits.

Revell

Tamiya

UT

Yeah, I don't think Audi has it in the bag. I think the Pugs will give them a good fight. Their car is fast, they have other issues beside just being fast. It was real close last year. And it was real close at Sebring this year, but I don't think Audi is the sure win. There just may be an upset.

I am thinking the r15 is the Porsche Coupe test bed.

I was rooting for the Audi over Peugeot at least as much because to my eyes it's the best looking open-cockpit P1 car ever. That front end looks so good, very aggressive, and the side vent area looks almost like an exoskeleton. Details like the LED lamps front and rear are like icing on the cake. Design-wise it's a knockout. So is the Peugeot, but a bit less so...while I generally like closed-cockpit design, the Peugeot cockpit is just a tad turret-like, though nothing like the hideous turrets seen on Daytona Prototypes that, to my eyes, completely spoil their aesthetic design. Peugeot color scheme looks great. I'm really looking forward to LeMans this year

Yeah, those lights look like batmobile wings sticking up.

Me too, I hope it's another good race. Last year I figured someone would have pulled out a sizeable lead and I would go to bed, but I ended up staying up all night because it was Audi Pug Pug Audi all night long and in the morning it was still close, and then it started to rain, The Audi spun, and the Pug cought up again.... man that was some good stuff.

I hope Lizards have some better luck though. 3 GT2 Porsche and two get taken out in one swift move.

I don't know I think the Coupes are sure sexy. The Spyders and conv don't do it for me, although the Audi does look pretty cool.

Which GT1 kit are you using?

It's the Revell Champion Porsche. Been in the basement for must be 10 years or so waiting for a spark to do it.

Been trying things in Photoshop with the forum logo, but nothing has hit home yet...

oh.. missed that ..doing a 917! coolness.. ))

So Paul drove a flamed GT1?? Don't think I've ever seen that.. gonna have to look. He lived not far from me and I did some engineering work for him.. (house, not cars... ehhe). He was pretty much a regular guy.. no overblown ego.

Nicest guy I ever met.

But no Flamed GT1 Porsche

The car with flames, actually there were two:

Fabcar FDSC/03 - Porsche 2004 24hrs of Daytona result DNF

And a

Crawford DP03 - Ford 2005 24hrs of Daytona result DNF

2005 Crawford

I know alot of people don't like the DP cars because it is a NASCAR owned series. I have been to ALMS at Lime Rock and to the race at the New Jersey Motorsports Park. I do have to say that the DP guys are more aproachable than the ALMS guys. Just remember racing is racing if its not in a circle.

I don't know, I think the Rolex is better racing.

ALMS they jack with the rules too much and can pretty let who they want win, win. And now they kind of whittled it down to two classes.

They are not the same car. Not even close.

The GT1 didn't race Daytona. Different class car.

The Daytona was the Fabcar DP, actually that is the Crawford Ford car, but the Fabcar Porsche had the same paint job on it.

This is what I'm thinking at this point. It should also totally clear up any thoughts about what the heck I'm doing.....

Any comments and suggestions are fully welcome. This is all still in the planning stage and I'm not a professional graphics designer or artist.

The faded blue will give me heart palpitations, so I'll be defiantly be soliciting techniques.

WHAT ABOUT THIS

USE THE NAME PART OF THE GRAPHIC

AND GET RID OF THE BACKROUND.

GET A GRAPHIC OF A SOLID LINE

OF A MODEL TREE BRANCH, WITH THE PARTS ON IT

OR PHOTOGRAHP ONE BLACK ON A WHITE BACK ROUND.

GO TO PHOTOSHOP AND CREATE A GRAY SCREEN

OF IT AND MAKE A DECAL OF IT...BIG TO COVER THE HALL CAR.

PAINT THE CAR SILVER,,,AND WITH THE SCREEN, IT WILL GIVE IT

A GRAPHIC ON A DARKER SILVER TONE LOOK.

REMEMBER THE BLACK C9 WITH THE ELECTRONIC LINES LOOK???

SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

THEN PASTE THE NAME, BUT THE TOP VIEW IN AN ANGLE

ON THE BACK COVER

THE CIRCLE WITH THE NUMBER, GET RID OF IT AND

USE THE STANDARD WHITE SQUARE THAT

THEY USE IN LEMANS WITH ALL THE CERTIFICATES

THEY HAVE....MAY NEED A DECAL SHEET FROM ANOTHER CAR TO GET THEM.

IF YOU ARE GOING MODEL CAR SPONSORS, DO OF MORE

MODEL CAR STUFF RELATED, LIKE "REVELL - PAINT BRAND - MAKE YOUR NAME

AND DO INSTEAD OF DRIVER - BUILDER .....EVEN THE NAME OF THE HOBBYSHOP YOU GOT THE

KIT.....JUST AN IDEA.....

OR JUST GO SAFE AND GET THE MOBIL 1 DECALS.

I am still trying to figure out the 962. I think the number sould be 10. No Kenwood Kammer 962 #11 in this scheme ran in this body configuration that I know of.

Not that I know them all.

That is what I thought at first. Burned down IIRC coming into Arnage, and another car stop and burned in the exact same location.

I like some of those ideas. The parts tree could have potential though would be some huge, nasty decals. I didn't especially like the "sticker" look of the name logo, but was trying to stay true to what we have. some fading of edges could improve the look. Looking closer, those are parts in the MCM logo.

Aw, Cal .. got to read my post on first page!!!! Think you DID miss the MCM team on your amazing lists though. B) About every GT1 I've seen was painted by 2nd graders as far as I'm concerned. stickers on white. uggghh! The black History Channel one you posted is the best looking by far of any of them, and don't believe that ran. If I didn't do this little bit of fun I'd probably never build it. This is a good excuse to do it!

What about the ROHR car? :D Although it didn't run Le Mans.

The glow in the dark STP car was kind of cool.

I think the original Mobile scheme was pretty cool too.

The test car was pretty cool too.
