Brutalform Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 What’s nice about the Starliner kit, is you will not have to mess with another engine. The kit supplied engine can be a 390, 406, or a 427. They all have the same appearance on the outside.
Brutalform Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 (edited) This is a Thunderbolt hi rise intake I was going to use originally atop the Starliner engine. This might fit under the hood of the 63 as it is. Edited April 17, 2024 by Brutalform 1
Brutalform Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 (edited) Also Top End Decals make a Galaxie set that includes the emblems, lettering, and chrome vents on the rear panels of the 63. As you can see, the expense goes up a bit the more we try to replicate a correct looking super stocker. Edited April 17, 2024 by Brutalform

It seems I have the 2000 issue and it has only the single quad intake but I must say it's a beauty. The whole engine is super nice. I have a Thunderbolt but it's getting built so no bashing allowed. Those decals look good, Tom, I'm going to check them out. Thanks, Tom. J

Another possibility, that wouldn't be as nice but still a duel quad setup can be found in the AMT '60 Starliner custom kit the one with the blue car on the box.

Yes, those Holly's are outstanding! I'm going to be looking at those, for sure. I wish I had known about the dual quad intake before I bought the kit with the black car on the box ?...oh well, sometimes if you don't ask the right questions....anyway, I'll get there eventually ?.
Brutalform Posted April 20, 2024 Posted April 20, 2024 Jim if you PM me your address, i can send you out a couple of hi riser intakes. One from the Tbolt, and the other is from the AMT 65 Galaxie.

You pretty much bought it for the chassis anyway.
Brutalform Posted April 20, 2024 Posted April 20, 2024 Just as Dave suggested, you can sand and/or file the top of the intake down if there were to be a little extra hood clearance needed. But without an air cleaner, you might be ok.

LennyB Posted April 20, 2024 Posted April 20, 2024 (edited) Jim, I have a Revell 64 Thunderbolt that is going to donate much of it's personality to an AMT '65 Fairlane. You can have the intake if you want it. Also have the dual setup from the 60 Starliner if you want to try that one too. I'm saving the tri-carb for a '64 Mercury Super Marauder. ? Tonight I found the complete 427 from the '66 Fairlane on ebay. I'll use that in the Galaxie and swap the chassis', giving me a screwbottom Starliner with a nice 406. ?
