I'm not terribly close, but if you consider a BIIIG neighborhood, then we are both in it. I am just south of Lubbock. In my younger days I lived in Electra, just down the road from you. I shop in Lubbock, Odessa, and once-in-a-while I get to Irving to Wild Bills Hobbies. Give me a holler.

Sorry, I haven't checked this thread lately. I've pretty much resigned myself to isolation in Vernon. I did find a good hobby shop in Childress. The guy has over 650 kits and is aiming for 1,000. His prices are resanable and so is his shipping. I saw his e-mail address on his sign samshobbies@hotmail.com . Mike Donathan is his name. Send an e-mail and tell him what you want/need and he'll answer.

Maybe we can figure out how to get together.

I don't think we are more than a few hours apart. I've never been to Vernon but, folks I know who lived in Frederick Ok said it was about the same distance to either come here to Lawton or to go there. Guess its the Two Walmarts that drag em here lol

So whats a central point to get together? I'm 80 miles from Lawton, 50 miles from Witchita Falls, 146 miles to Abilene, and 60 miles from Chidress, which has a real hobby shop. If theres a middle, I might be close to it. Whatcha think?

Childress might be a good spot since it has a hobby shop and we have nothing here. Just have to have enough time to plan a trip. Might be able to bring a couple of guys with me.
