An amazing build, Claude, but it's hard to look past that stunning paint job!   Those Torinos have a strong family resemblance to our XA Falcon Hardtops from 1972 so if we get one of these in styrene eventually, I could see using this as a blueprint!

Cheers

Alan

Hi Alan!

Thank you. You are right, the Torino variety (with a straighter c-pillar and more vertical back panel than the Montego and/or Cyclone) are very similar.

The design Tsar of the time must have exerted influence in Australia too!

Ha! I can imagine Gene Bordinat spilling his G & T all over his powder blue polyester suit if he saw this baby being pulled in to the design studio in Dearborn! I never worked for Gene but I worked for his successor Jack Telnack who set up Ford Australia and led the design of those wild 70's Falcons. They shared the same design language with the American Torinos and Montegos and even had some touches of the big Mustang of '71. When he went back to Dearborn he was instrumental in delivering the first FOX Mustang and later the wildly successful Jelly Bean Taurus and the Aero Thunderbirds. Anyway, Jack probably would have liked the cleanliness of this coupe though I'm sure the monster wheels would have left him scratching his head about how they were going to turn it around to get it out of the rotunda...

That color just posts.  I like the flame tread on the tires.  Great looking build.

Thank you Bob! I like to experiment with colors, you never know what might happen...

Another stunner Claude! I too love the color combo, although that engine compartment is particularly cool. Thank you for posting.

Outstanding work and great use of the other kits - really sweet build.

Thank you Bob!

It appears you can't accumulate too many leftovers, gotta use them!

Ah Claude , you did it again , a perfect match of form and function. Flawless execution as always. And I too, share your interest in 66-72 period .IMO the best of detroit ,design wise but as a 60+ years old, I  am hopelessly biased.

Excellent travail mon ami !

Merci Mario!

I'm 69, and getting older by the day. That makes two of us partial to this era of design.

I'm finishing a 70 Toro (ProTouring) and starting a 70 Eldo (station wagon concept).

Stay tuned!

Another great build, Claude! I like everything about it, especially the colour! Very well done!

Thanks Oliver! The lines of the body inspired me, I guess...
