Looking for 1938 or so Diamond T

Recommended Posts

Most of the Diamond T stuff I've seen from that era have been 1/35 resin military kits. They look really nice, but they are VERY expensive. Like these from Real Model:

David,

Don't know of any current Diamond T conversions from that era. I'm sure there were some old Diamond Ts available from I think RNK conversions???? But they are no longer manufacturing.

Good Luck with your search.

Dave

Thanks for the input. I think that I am going to have to scratch build it....just didn't want to get 90% done and find out there was a kit. That's happened once or twice in my 35+ years of modeling.

Sincerely,

David

Thanks Jim. I might end up scratch building it. Just trying to avoid that long, dark path!!

Sincerely,

David

Hey don't know if it will help at all, but i saw 3 different types of Diamond T truck conversion kits on American Industrial Truck Models.... Not sure on the years or if its what you're looking for, but just thought i would pass that onto you.

Thanks! They are a little too new for me. I actually built the 950 T and you can see it at the following link. I machined a bunch of stuff and added my own flare to it. Thanks for you input though.

I believe that is a rule of modelling. When you take on a major conversion or scratchbuild project someone will issue a kit shortly before you finish your build.

Thanks for taking the hit on this one, I will enjoy the inevitable Diamond T kit that arrives. :)

You are more than welcome!! I cast alot of stuff for myself, so when I'm done, I'll sell one to you

That works too. ;) Seriously if you cast it, I will part with some money.

The project I want it for is a rat rod wrecker I saw at Billet Proof in Ocala. The guy had chopped and lowered it and the door sills were on the ground (had air bags too). Should I cast it in it's normal production phase, or create a master that is like the model I want to do? What would you do? It might be of little use to those who would not build a chopped version if I create a master that is chopped.
