Chris in Berwyn Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 (edited) Hi, I’m getting parts together for my build of the Revell 29 Model A. Any idea where I can get headers similar to the kit headers, but for a 392 Hemi (see pic of a real car for what I’m looking for.) I’ve found these but worried they may be too big since they are for a 426 (I can scratch the connection to the exhaust system if I have to) https://www.3dscaleparts.com/product-page/1-25-426-hemi-headers-now-available-on-the-website-hemiheaders-hotrodheaders Replicas and Minis has a set too but I don’t think they are what I want (see pic of description.) Lastly, is there a photo etched grill available for this kit? I checked Model Car Garage and no luck I think Replicas and Minis may have had that grill but I believe they’ve discontinued all photo etch Thanks for any help or suggestions! Ace-Garageguy Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 (edited) Both the old 392 Chrysler hemi and the later 426 have even exhaust port spacing, and the heads are about the same length. Unless you're a real nitpicker, the 426 headers should look just fine in 1/25. Big-block Chevys and many Fords also have even exhaust port spacing, so something made for those might work for you. gman Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 I believe Model Car Garage did the photoetched grills for Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland (stock height or chopped '32 Ford style), who then included them with their resin grill surrounds. I don't believe they did a stock-style Model A grill. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/replicas-and-miniatures-company-maryland-rh-414-32-ford-chopped-grille--1291980 R&MoM's headers should work: https://public.fotki.com/IceMan555/resin-archives/replicas-miniatures/all/41-470808281128.html Bob's photoetch and Norm's resin parts are both first rate.
Chris in Berwyn Posted May 25, 2024 Author Posted May 25, 2024 Thanks you guys - I’ve got a couple of good choices here!
