Yeah, I'm working on it. 30 minutes ago, Paul Payne said: Replicas and Miniatures (Norm Veber) has excellent Ardun heads that fit on most any 1/25th scale flathead. The kit has pulleys, belt material- everything you need. However, the hood sides will need to be bulged or omitted for them to fit. Thanks for the info Paul.
dino246gt Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Please don't give up on this one, it looks fantastic! I love the stance and the overall look you're going for! Here's a picture of the Ardun flathead from the '50 pickup with some added extra details that I used in my '36: 2
Zippi Posted June 19, 2024 Author Posted June 19, 2024 I have pulled out the Custom engine in the kit with the 3 deuces. I also have the 3 deuce setup off the Ardun Flathead V8. That's funny that the Ardun Flathead V8 looks HUGH in the 36 body but the 3 deuce setup for that engine looks small on the Custom engine for the 36. 4

Zippi Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 Not much going on fellows. We have a heat wave coming through so I'm staying out of the garage and in the AC. I did get the Pontiac 421 engine painted and a little assembly done. Making plug boots and wiring the engine will be next. 4
Zippi Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 That didn't take long. Made the plug boots and wired the engine. Just need to install the generator and paint the transmission. 5
Tim W. SoCal Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Bob, What did you use to make the sparkplug boots?

bobss396 Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 I have the same kit started from years back. I got the roof-to-body fit perfect. And that was about it. The story of my modeling life... back in the box. VCG Resins has a nice flattie with options. The one from the '48 Ford kit is also quite good. Another back in the box tale....

Thanks for the info Bob. I like the Revell kit much better. You should drag those back out of the box and finish them out. I love the body style of the 35, 36, and 37. 1

I did an OG AMT '32 Ford coupe last year, think it was a '61 or '62 issue. I was thinking I would have problems getting the interior in place... wrong... it snapped in and needed no glue. The same for the glass. The chassis sort of floated around, I had to pin that so it stayed put.

Maybe this is the one you built last year? 1

Zippi Posted June 24, 2024 Author Posted June 24, 2024 I have the body in primer and the wheels & rotors painted. I'm thinking red calipers. I'm wondering if I should try and hit the outer edge of the wheels with my 4mm Molotow pen??? Shooting for tomorrow morning on getting some paint on the body. 4
Zippi Posted June 25, 2024 Author Posted June 25, 2024 Chassis has been painted Tamiya Gun Metal and engine installed. Wheels have been painted in Tamiya Gun Metal as well with silver rotors and red calipers. The heat index in going to be 107º today so I'm done for the day. 3
dino246gt Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Oooh, it's looking great already, I'm loving this one!

Zippi Posted June 25, 2024 Author Posted June 25, 2024 (edited) The humidity was below 60% so I had a small window before the heat and humidity kicked in today so I got some paint on the body. Edited June 25, 2024 by Zippi 2
