Does anybody know what engine is in the Trumpeter 65 Ranchero Custom Plus?

289 V8, I believe - but those Trumpeter engines are not exactly known for their accuracy.

As Steve say, they are definately not known for accuracy, the engines in the Trumpeter Falcon/Ranchero kits are way too large...the 221, 260, 289 and 302 is a very small engine...so it's a bit bulky and not well proportioned, the transmission is also questionable.

The intake manifold in particular is way off with only two runners on the left side

If you're looking for a good 289, the one in the AMT '67 Mustang GT-350 is the way to go, IMHO.
