Hondamatic Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 (edited) This is my "rip off street van" made from a MPC Dodge van bought from a blurry ebay listing It was cheap enough that even with no body, it was probably worth it Edited September 11, 2024 by Hondamatic 10
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Pretty cool build. They both look amazing! 1
XYHARRY Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Not sure what's going on here. Is that how you bought it or is that your finished build? If so it makes for a very convincing barn find. Either way, well done Hien. Cheers, David. ?? 1

Thank you, the auction was for a built kit that looked like someone globbed on thick craft glue to cover the broken parts and sprayed some flake paint to cover it up. I stripped it, shortened it, and played off of the problems Edited September 14, 2024 by Hondamatic 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 I like the end result. Very convincing had-a-hard-life beater van. All it needs is "free candy" spray painted on the side. 1
Leica007 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Looks like a lot of owner built street vans of the period. Thanks for showing the chop photo, I've been wanting to shorten my Gold Rush kit so now I know where to section it. Thanks a bunch. 1

The gold rush van is an 80s body, so you'd have to cut in a different place, but you'd have to cut about 18mm. The roof is cut in the middle to make the crown less weird. There was an article last year in the "other model magazine" on how to cut these down
Rattlecan Dan Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Great realism! (Except for the jar) looked like they were sitting in a warehouse. Nice job. 1
