I built this aussie classic using a body and hood of a mpc 69 cuda and a interior pan and chassis from a mpc 75/76 dart sport and lots of bits and pieces from my parts boxes
I decided to make this a tribute to one of my heroes the late great Steve Irwin
I painted the body a base coat of rust-oleum 2x gloss brilliant blue with a top coat of eastup high performance wheel paint dark flash blue
then created the Australian flag on the roof using a a part of a decal and hand painting the Starbursts and Steve's name above each door using gloss white acrylic craft paint with a dead ultra fine tip sharpie
I hand made the Queensland plates

G’day Michelle, you’ve captured the look well on this one, the “ sail panels” on the rear roof pillars and the tail lights in particular are unmistakably Valiant Charger.  It was the last model sadly, but for me at least, the best looking. ??Good stuff.

Fantastic Charger there Michelle. When you recently mentioned your plans to build a Valiant Charger I thought to myself that would be hard to do considering all the different angles on these cars. You really nailed it, very well done.

We all miss Steve Irwin and his legacy lives on through his courageous family.

Cheers,

David. ??
