Scott Eriksen Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Brian,,we were talking the other day about that,,,ability to tilt the hoods and stuff with equipment mounted,,,we have a fleet of F450 Ford ambulances from Monroe Twp here in Jersey that have Rhino brand stainless steel grill guards that have full loops around the headlites,,,to change bulbs in the headlight assemblies the guard has to be removed or at least pivoted down on just 2 bracket bolts,,,an hour job to change a bulb 1
Scott Eriksen Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 this photo shows the Whelen Edge lightbar with red lenses,,,so even if the LED's can be switched from red to amber the red lenses make it moot ,,,I'm up in the air about my lightbar choice now 1
BK9300 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I do remember - I guess I wasn't too clear, above! I hadn't seen any before you posted the pic(s) of the plow truck with these hatches in my thread, a few days ago. 1
Scott Eriksen Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 (edited) Started adding the lights today,,Mack logos on the air horns,, some decals on the rear ,cable hooks painted up when dry I'll attach them ,diamond plate for chain box painted ,install when dry.Mack bulldog for hood chromed ,install when dry Edited February 3 by Scott Eriksen 6

Scott Eriksen Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 .............a little more progress,I ran out of CTM marker lights,,,should have those by the weekend,,, Bulldog is on the hood,Auslowe cab markers are on,the light bar is on and the chain box diamond plate mounted with some chain thrown in .The winch lines with the hooks are done. Still massaging the front bumper ,,,winch should be here soon .I've ordered 2 more cab kits from Karl at Global, a Brockway 361 and a B61 Mack undecided how I'm going to build 'em yet 5
BK9300 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Your wrecker looks ready to haul that stranded pumper back to the garage! Any chance your light bar lenses can be painted with red clear? 2

gotnitro? Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Excellent work! The little paint tweaks really stand out Earlier topic about the access door in the hood reminded me of our towns IH workstar 3
Biggu Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I love the way the wrecker body sits on the frame. Wheel openings dead center over driver hub and the perfect spacing from the top of the tires to the wheel opening, absolutely perfect. This one is a show stopper. Great attention to the details. Love it 1
Scott Eriksen Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Mirrors are on ,bumper is primed and ready for painting then rubber mudflap material to be attached ,,the winch will pay out above the bumper like the 1:1 so it doesn't have to be cut out 2
Scott Eriksen Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 ....................on a side note I picked this up on Ebay ,,,haven't seen one of these in awhile 2

BK9300 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Very impressive angle shot of your emergency light pylon, too! Meant to ask you earlier - what did you use to bond the brass frame to the checker plate (plastic?)? - looks very sturdy. 1

I've been looking for one of those too Lee,,the mixer kit was a DM800 I think the last time that was issued was in the 90's,that's why I jumped on this ,it's been out of production for awhile ,,I think I'll build this up as a flat bed after a truck I worked on owned by Dennis Crowley,he hauled coil steel back in the 80's Edited February 7 by Scott Eriksen 1
