Kownterfiet Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Making a custom AMT Ram 3500 (1994 model) and I need help with the chassis, got the cabs put together but I have 2 chassis (from the 2500 and 3500’s I bought) and I have to make a longer chassis to fit my extended cab long bed body, anybody have any idea how I could do that?
dwc43 Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Pick what matches up and cut them straight and put them together. Brace them on the back side if there's room. I'll show you a pic of two Bronco frames I put together to put under a resin truck body. The frame in my pics is not braced cause it glues to the floor pan. The rear section of the floor pan actually overlaps the middle section of the floor pan. With it all glued together, it self-braces itself so to speak. Hope that helps. Got any questions let me know. By the way, this is the first one I ever made.
NOBLNG Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 (edited) Pretty much like D.W. said…here is how I lengthened the frame for a Jeepster build. Edited September 22, 2024 by NOBLNG 2
