Koellefornia Kid Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Hi guys, once again it was the artist Steve Stanford who inspired me to turn one of his sketches into scale reality. I found his drawing of a Mercedes 450 SLC in the depth of the world wide web… …and realised that Italeri offered a kit of this car. I just had to add this one to my collection: The kit included only the driver‘s side mirror, so I robbed the mirrors from a die cast. Jay‘s resin wheels provided the perfect rolling stock: Other than Steve Stanford I didn’t use custom door handles. Just shaved the stock ones along the emblems and lettering for a more smooth and clean look. Apart from the wheels, stance, engine wiring and the light shaving the kit was built box stock. As a little homage to Mr. Stanford the license plates show his signature: That‘s it from my first non-american model car. Hope you like it. comments are welcomed and appreciated! greetings from Cologne, Germany 9

XYHARRY Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 You really captured the look of the artwork with this cool Mercedes, well done Oliver. Cheers, David. ?? 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 That's beautiful! I picked up a rebuilder of this kit at a recent show (for $15 or $20(?) and regretfully traded it away..... 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Did a great job of capturing the look. Nice work. 1
