Resin Motorsports Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Hey Everyone, My name is RJ and I'm the owner and operator of Resin Motorsports a new high quality resin caster. I currently am working on a 1970 Ford Maverick trans kit that will be released in a few weeks. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in this great kit. I will be uploading some pics of the build in a few days when i complete a bit more work on this kit.
george 53 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Wow, sounds neat. What kit would you "Trans" it with? As long as it's reasonably priced, I'd say you got a good shot. Has anyone priced a Jo Han Maverick/Comet kit lately? Yeesh, you'd think they were stocks or somethin!.A nice kit at a fair price could do ALOT to getting you started! Good Luck!!!
Reliable Resin Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Doesn't another Resin Caster already offer that Maverick in yrs between 70 > 73 ???

Drago Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) Doesn't another Resin Caster already offer that Maverick in yrs between 70 > 73 ??? A friend of mine runs a small company called DomModelCar. It's a pretty new company and its focus is the Brazilian cars. Unfortunately we did not have great muscles cars in the past like the American people. More precisely, 4 models have made success in the 70's: Ford Galaxie, Ford Maverick, Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Opala (yes, with “Oâ€). This last is a Brazilian version of the Opel Rekord C. Anyway, DomModelCar have started its business with Brazilian Ford Maverick, which also have some differences comparing to the American version (and so with JoHan kit) For years, we (Brazilian modelers) had to modify the JoHan´s kit to get our Maverick version. But not anymore. So, if you guys really wants this model, there is already a resin caster that made it. RJ, please don't take my post as a trouble. I´m a kind of guy that really support all initiatives. If you already started working on it, I say keep the good work. There is space for everyone!!! That´s the DomModelCar´s webpage: http://www.dommodelcar.com/ The option "FOTOS" means pictures of some projects & built models. jhuntsman Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 most def. intrested! im with george what chassis will the body use?
Resin Motorsports Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 The maverick is still in the design stage and a chassis has yet to be decided upon. Currently we are looking at what would be the closest match to the original maverick chassis. I hope to have a few of our products avail by the end of May.
dwc43 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I would not mind having one as long as it was a V8 with a grabber hood option. The two door with the grabber hood looks sharp and racey. Guy used to have one here in town that was solid blue with black striping. I would not mind duplicating that old car.

Seems as though a '67-'68 Mustang chassis would be a close match if not exact for that. Remember that the Maverick was a replacement for the Falcon. Since the Falcon and Mustangs were close cousins floorpan wise, the Maverick shouldn't be too far off. Or maybe I'm really out in left field! :P
george 53 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Where abouts are ye Billy Boy? I've been out here for YEARS an I ain't seen ya yet! Oh, an I always liked the style of them lil Mav's,Especially if the had them Lil ol 302's in 'em, it made 'em REAL screamers!

Or maybe I'm really out in left field! You're right on the money Bill! I've seen a couple done that way and they make a nice car! The Jo-Han chassis would be okay for a curbside model, but it's way off when you open the hood! The Mustang underpinnings also work well in the '61 Ranchero. Lee
dee Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 im for sure interested in at least one of your mavericks. please keep us updated !!! thanks.
Elliot949 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Doesn't another Resin Caster already offer that Maverick in yrs between 70 > 73 ???Yes Perrys Resins offers the 70-78 Mavericks on 2-dr & 4-dr versions and offers a full kit or partial kit...
