John E. Bowers Jr. Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Hey guys... This is a "back in the saddle" build for me. I've been out of the hobby for a while and am easing back into it. Mostly box stock but for the Wheels. I'm getting there but the time is getting tight.
Foxer Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 doesn't look like you forgot how to paint! nice trees
cruz Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Great job on this John, I love these Tamiya Porsches!!!
janositamas Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Wow, it looks your painting skills are just perfect!
crispy Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I'm not a fan of red, but you did a really clean job. The wheels look good too. Nice comeback! Chris
John E. Bowers Jr. Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Nice Porsche. doesn't look like you forgot how to paint! nice trees Thanks Man. Actually, this one has had three paint jobs. The first was a dark burgundy metallic that didn't work. Stripped and done with a Stoplight Red metallic. Botched again, so I went with Boyds Sunburst Orange after I changed the needle in my airbrush. This one worked so I followed with Boyds High gloss clear and polished. I'm finding out that this is a "use it or lose it" skill!
RodneyBad Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 You diffenitly didn't lose those painted and assembly skills Looks awesome. I love the red on it..
Nick F40 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I love how clean it is, the color, stance, and I love the wheels, very well done!
John E. Bowers Jr. Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Thank you guys for the very kind words about this build! As I have stated, this is one that I have done to rebound me back to where I was before I was recently distracted by a few of the life issues that tend to creep up from time to time. Things are leveling out now so I have a little more ability to concentrate on the hobby for a couple of hours a week.
FujimiLover Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 WOW! That first picture almost could belong in ROM thread! Coarse, it wouldn't work since we already know it's a model! LOL! Point is, nicely done!
