Gary Chastain Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Bench time has been minimal during holiday but making progress. Adding extensions to the turbo for heat shrink tubing connectors, also some PE stuff arrived. 4
Gary Chastain Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Trying to come up with air conditioner lines from the Freon pump to the firewall. the smaller on looks better and I think it represents the idea. 2
Gary Chastain Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Getting the turbo intercooler lines worked out. Yes that is heat shrink tube, think it’s gonna work. 1

BK9300 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Lots of extras for this build - certainly getting an idea of your vision from your engine detailing and general mockups! Going to be awesome - what competition are you getting ready for, if you don't mind me asking? 1

BK9300 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Hey Gary, I remember when you were assembling parts for this build, you said you couldn't find a front air suspension. Maybe you could use the right size rubber o-rings for air bags and plastic tube for an air tank, to simulate something like a Hendrickson front air ride system - 3

Don’t have your skills at plumbing Tell me about it - we have one of those Dyson vacuum cleaners with the green laser that shows stuff on the floor. When I vacuum, there's bits everywhere under the table! 2
Biggu Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I read that some guys take a nylon stocking and put it over the suction hose and thats how they find lost parts in the carpet monster. The parts get stopped at the stocking and can be retrieved ….. I love this engine and the color is Awesome!!! This is shaping ip to be a SHOW STOPPER! 1
Gary Chastain Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Attempting all the engine mounts and transmission mounts. Radiator fits, will need to modify the grill a bit. Gonna take some work to get the air exchanger plumbed, then finish details on engine. 1
Jürgen M. Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Wow! I must learn this plumbing stuff! Especially which line goes where. Just amazing what it does to the authenticity of an engine and the whole truck. 1
Gary Chastain Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Brian, thank you so much, just got my ……. saved. Brian pointed out that the turbo air inlet has to be reversed. Luckily I had just glued it on and was able to remove it, make the modifications and back in primer. 1
Rockford Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Looking very good. Going to be impressive. 1
