If you use the acrylic sacable cases from AMT they seal good I have models 32 years old in the and look new.

Yes, I used the old AMT style, and the ones they now sell at Hobby Lobby. I have had good luck with those as well.

I use the AMT cases.  Works well, though have been thinking of possibly picking up a couple of the Carney cases.  Also have a small curio cabinet that houses my trucks and a couple planes.  That's nearly full now.
