FujimiLover Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Well, after several painfull weeks, a poor blue-job, a secondary kit, some headaches, et'c, et'c, she is finally finished and when all put together, it ain't bad! Kind of funny how the little imperfections go away when it's all put together as a whole!
FujimiLover Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 I have to tell yea, this is NOT an easy kit to build. Not complicated, but not easy. Have I captured my Unicorn? No. Still some thing's about it I'm not happy with, but over all, I'm satisfied. Comment nicely please..............
Foxer Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Very Nice!! Looks fantastic.. and thanks for the ride along the way
FujimiLover Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Thank you, I'm tempted to do the Spider version next! Same colors, different methods! The two should look great together!
janositamas Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I'm glad you made it Dude, it turned out really great at the end, the shine is flawless! One more for your insistence! Mine is also on the way, Ferrari red and clear is on the body, now it needs 2-3 days to cure, the rest will follow afterwards!
crispy Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Looks great. Your paint work is my favorite. Smooth and clean. Chris

Mine is also on the way, Ferrari red and clear is on the body, now it needs 2-3 days to cure, the rest will follow afterwards! From this experience, I have a suggestion for you if you haven't done the decal's yet on the body. For the yellow KS emblem on the nose, I suggest painting that tiny little square yellow first as the decal is yellow and some what transparent. When I put my decal on against the red, it turned some what orange and made it harder to see. I'm very anxious to see how your body turns out and I bet yours will be better than mine seeing how well your engine and interior have turned out! Again, feel free to post your completed model here since it's the same one!
jbwelda Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 yes very nice esp after the travails. i have to hand it to you, you work fast and good. personally finishing a car is always a bit bittersweet. its nice its done but kinda anti-climactic too. just goes on the shelf and then its on to the next thing!
ericmaxman Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Nice one there ! Love the F40 from the beginning, and this only makes it more awesome. Well done !
FujimiLover Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 Nice one there ! Love the F40 from the beginning, and this only makes it more awesome. Well done ! F-40? Where did you get that from? This is a Testarossa! A highly modified Testarossa from the king of tuners! Not an F40! Yes, the F40 is nice too, but I like this more!

Thank you, actually, this was a slow build for me. Beleive it or not, but I really took my time on this one trying to get it perfect. Of the ten-or-so of these kit's I've built in my life time so far, this one IS THE BEST yet! I'm hoping when I do the Competition Spider, it'll be even better! Edited April 22, 2009 by FujimiLover
beefheart22 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Turned out pretty slick... I'm with everybody else... that paint job shines and gleams in all the right places!
Nick F40 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Ok, now we're talking!! You already know this! I'm surprised nobody was wondering where I was. I think I might take this also! I get a little laugh of some of the comments saying about F40 they did make it look very much like it. If you don't mind me saying, I think this is your best build to date. Your paint work is so phenominal and clean. Edited April 22, 2009 by Nick F40
Bryce Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Kind of funny how the little imperfections go away when it's all put together as a whole! So true - I always seem to have this stage just before a model is finished where I feel really disappointed with everything. Then when it's done and on the shelf I love it. My wife reminds me that I say the same thing every time. Nice build.

Your paint work is so phenominal and clean. Thank you for your kind comments! But if you saw it up close and personal, you'll see why I'm not 100% satisfied with it, but I admit it is my favorite one I've done so far, and as I've said before, I'm sure the Spider version will be even better! I think it was worth getting the extra kit for the new body! Plus, I saved the seats and steering wheel for the KS 500 SL project!

Nick F40 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 The cool thing about you is that you know and build these rare tuner company's cars, you rarely see that model and 1:1. and you live in Colorado near Chris LeClair I got to move there.
FujimiLover Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) Who is Chris LeClair? Yes, I do love these cars and have been in love since I was a young teenager back when. My dream is to own every scale model I can possibly find of every Koenig Specials cars. 1/18, 1/16, 1/24, and 1/43. I've almost completed my 1/24 scale collection but still waiting for the post-person to deliver my Diablo and 911. Will soon be getting my hand's on the 928! Be funny if all three arrived on the same day! Edited April 23, 2009 by FujimiLover
