Hi,

 

Great job!

Nice machined parts which bring a beautiful realistic mechanical touch.

Hope to see more of this enjoyable WIP.

Thanks PG and Charlie - the fuel pick up was turned fr Nickel silver rod …. The teeth on the rim of the pickup were cut on the mill using an .015 mill - thats the smallest one that i’ve got - that i haven’t broken - looks like its about the right size …

Next trying to solder pegs into three of the six teeth - thats why I used nickel silver rod-

The above mite be confusing - the teeth on the rim are cut w an .015 mill - the scallop shapes on the rim are cut with an .031 mill - clear as Mud ?

So i’ve ended up w these three parts for the moment - but i mite ditch the wh metal ring and make one w 12 bolts - which is ….  err … nuts -

Needing a fuel pickup break - these are the front engine plates - the left hand is the 20th sc plate for the fuel injected Climax engine in the Tamiya kit - with the water and oil pumps - good stuff - the right hand plate is the simpler on that i made for the ‘62 Climax engines - which sported Webers …

Once this plate is done I’ll make The seperate plate for the fuel injected engine - like the tamiya part - it has to include  the pulleys that drove the mechanical fuel pump in the V of the Climax engine …

Some work on the cyl head and then some work in the tray holding the Webers … the carb shielding is made from Evergreen strip….

On the early 25s - The transistor unit for the ignition is found perched at the back of the carb tray - but the kit part is overscale - so …

The one part that i did not scratchbuild was this white Casting - which is the forward pipe assembly found in the tamiya 20th sc Lotus 25 - was pleasently  surprised that my caster was able to cast this - assembly will be easier with the use of this casting -

The dash bulkhead and the fuel pipe - these parts began life as Tam Lotus 25 kit parts - modified heavily to add detail -

Bulkheads behind the seat … There’s an opening in one of these for a fuel bag photo on page 2 of this thread shows an opening for a fuel bag - thats an early chassis - so i think i’ll add this feature …
