Mr mopar Posted January 4 Posted January 4 January 6, 2025 ALERT: USPS will resume mail service to Canada on Monday, January 6, 2025. Learn more. Packages sent to countries that follow European Union (EU) customs rules need more-detailed content descriptions for customs forms. 2
stitchdup Posted January 4 Posted January 4 when they say more detailed content descriptions they really mean it too. i have to list every item in a kit individually now. my last kits i posted had 3 pages of contents each and the lady in the post office wasn't happy having to type it all out. over 20 mins to post 1 package, and i had 4 of them. i tried writing sealed model kit and they refused it.
Can-Con Posted January 4 Posted January 4 (edited) Yea, that's Canada Post. The rules were changed a few weeks before they went on strike but they weren't as strict about listing everything in the box separately . They didn't get their way with the strike and were ordered back to work so now they're doing everything strictly "by the book". Just think, some kits have upwards of 1000 parts. Great fun. I think this will make Canada Post virtually unusable for parcel mail. No one's gonna want to go to that much extra effort just to send a model somewhere. Edited January 4 by Can-Con 1
iamsuperdan Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Yeah, I got notice that Royal Mail in the UK is finally shipping to Canada again. Will see how Canada Post is now, as I have a package to send to the US containing a few kits and some 3d printed parts. Should be fun.
