There’s a few errors, which hopefully they’ll correct before release. There were two versions, the GTA, a more road-focused with comfort front sport seat, full back seat, and small flip spoiler, and a lighter GTAm, which removed the back seat and rear door panels, and added a roll bar and big exterior wing. The kit has the big exterior wing and a roll bar of the GTAm, but they forget to eliminate the rear seats, door panels, and include the correct front GTAm race seats. It can easily be built as a GTA with a big wing, not a GTAm.

I pointed out things were wrong prior to the public announcement of the release, but they didn't fix anything. This is a quick and dirty reissue that uses the prior parts with a couple of things added to it. There's a Mugen Civic coming at the same that appears to not have anything resembling the wheels which is a glaring part of the visible differences compared to the kit they're reissuing from... both are quick and dirty (and lazy) things to make sure they had some stuff on the market so they would have some sales prior to Lunar New Year break.

I figured, but let the aftermarket provide a fix I suppose.  I'm fine building it as a GTA with a big wing. I remember the last time I saw something wrong...the rear headrests of the Audi RS6 are from the base version and they didn't mold the intricate stitched seat centers, both of which were corrected on the RS7.

For the price, I’d really expect not to have to need “the aftermarket to provide a fix…”. They’re not exactly mainstream kits in the first place, so the opportunity for an aftermarket supplier is pretty limited…

best,

M.

Back when I was less than thrilled with the back seat they actually sent me a couple of short videos showing at GTAm with something that appears closer to the kit seats except carpeted in really fuzzy nearly shag style sound deadening material. Imagine a carpeted speaker box except the entire rear seat area is covered in it. That's not what the current GTAm looks like at all, with a more spartan race car style stripped rear seating area. I kinda wonder if the problem is with them building it from an early prototype and not the production car. As the car in the videos didn't seem to have the production car Sport Seats either. It's still a disappointment considering the cost, but I took one look at the test shot and went - Well guess I'm filling in the rear seat holes and building a GTA out of that.

Wow.  Welp, only dimly aware of their previous Giulia if I was at all, goes to show you what I know.

Fingers and other extremities still crossed for a Tourbillon, but that's neither here nor there in an Alpha Alfa thread.

My kit arrived today (in a very bright orange box) and your right: they haven't changed it from the prototype. They've clearly used the same interior mold from the first release for this version as they have you put the roll cage over seats - not a seat cavity.

I personally am just going to leave the roll cage out anyway as I want this to be what would be my own personal ride if I had the spare money to get a real one. It's a win for me but yeah, if you wanted to build a true to form GTAm out of this, you'll need to modify the rear.

I took some photos of the kit and posted them here:

Alfa GTAm

Here's a couple from that lot if you haven't got the time but are still curious:

The rear seat has been brought up and yeah, pretty sure the real one doesn't have a seat with a roll cage punched through the leather etc:

As usual, the body is cast beautifully:

Even the seats have the nice stitching:

Not a lot of PE:

My came with an unexpected 3D printed part

The main difference is the width of the vane on the top right, the 3D one being wider. It also looks sharper

It's a nice kit and one I'm looking forward to building. Just have to decide on the colour :)

I cannot let my son see this under any circumstances. I'd be blackmailed into buying it for sure.

Must resist..... my wallet really hates you right now!

I wonder if they'll be able to engineer the kit in a way that lets the doors be pose-able in the upright position?
