Pete68 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) I was out in the garage today looking at my HO and O scale Layouts and I need to build more trucks for my HO layout so I decided to rebuild this old Lee Town Mack B61 that I’ve had since 1982. I found this Model in a Railroad Model Craftsman magazine ad I can still remember Dad writing out the Money Order to get it. When it arrived it was a little more complicated for me to build so I asked Bill if he would build it and he did an outstanding job on it. He painted it Red with Black fenders and he gull winged the bumper I was very proud of it for years. It’s been several colors the last color was this one I painted and decaled it around 1999 and made it a single axle. After it’s done it will go on my HO Layout. Repainting it with Tamiya Red Added some Photo ech Mirrors and grab handles. I’ll be adding an old Athearn RTR Interior to it. I painted it close to Mack Interior green as I could I added a 5 stick with a Triplex stick as well made from very small wire and dab some Super glue on the ends for shift knobs and added the dash gauges with a Cocktail stick dipped in black paint. Painted the tires Tamiya NATO Black to dull them up for a cleaner look. That’s all I got for tonight tomorrow I’ll be adding the Battery box and the Bulldog Hood Ornament. Ace-Garageguy Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Cool cool cool. Love B-61s, love Macks in general, love HO scale. Great to see a survivor getting rebuilt too. I have some vintage 1/87 Ulrich cast metal tractors, no Lee Towns yet. 1

Thanks for dropping in and for the comment. I like those Mack Trucks too I have for years. I done an inventory last night I have 18 Ulrich H model Mack’s now. I used to custom build them and sell them on eBay for years that’s why I have so many left. I plan on building them might do a thread on one here. I have several Lee Town Mack kits also. My next one will be a Mack B model fire truck Burmuda Cab. 1
Dave Van Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Nice work!! 1/87 is a great scale for trucks. I built a Ulrich metal kit when I was a kid....wish they were still around. 1
