That's a buzz saw of a 265. He did his homework searching out the lightest model, too. To me, these classes are the most interesting and fun to watch, and research about. lots of fine tuning and tweeking to keep things right on that ragged edge. And the fact he beat Glidden, that's 2 wins in one. 3
RSchnell Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) One of my mentors had a nicely built 283 in his '58 Corvette he bought new. The first time he took me for a ride in it I was 11. He'd wind it out, change gears & you'd get pinned in the seat again. I looked over & he has this big Chesire Cat grin going on. I asked him "It never gets old does it?" I can't repeat what he said here, but it still gives me a laugh nearly 40 years later. He was an old school drag racer & loved 283 & 327's. He used to call 350's Kmart motors lol. This is the dude responsible for my '77 Caprice 4dr getting a 327 & 4spd instead of the 305/TH350. Edited February 1 by RSchnell typo 2 1

It's not my video, says Eddyville in the description. I do the same with tracks I'm familiar with and have raced/been to, mostly east coast. 1
