Dave isn't here either, Bil. He's still trying to finish up the Cord. I'll let him know. He'll appreciate your comment but he needs to do a little more work on it.

Failed humour attempt Jim! I’m really liking how you are making these two fit together so well!

It's a bash job, for sure, Bil. Not sure if it's worth the effort, though.

Dave just stole away with your flathead while you had your back turned. Let's see how it looks in the Cord. Bil drove the getaway car, 32 ford with a Caddy engine.

Hi there, I am somewhat new member to this forum. Love following this build, keep it up!

I don't know how much longer I can keep this up, Zack, but you are certainly welcome to hang out. Comments are always welcome but be warned: I have no idea what I'm doing. 😪

I was wondering where my beautiful, well detailed engine went. What would he do with it?

Maybe he'll build a hot rod?

This has always been a mystery to me. What's the slots for?

No idea whatsoever, but it may have inspired PAC-man

That's a design feature for people who can't apply the brakes properly and come to a smooth stop. The slot allows a cushion to protect you from a stiff neck due to their poor foot control.

My guess would be to simplify ejecting the part from the mold? Otherwise the holes for the metal axle would have to be made by pins which would have to be withdrawn before the part could be ejected.

Ah ha. The manufacturing process strikes again. You'd think by now though....

Ya know, Bil  I had that same thought but was afraid to say it. Thank you! 🥴

Coming along nicely. The AMT fender sets have huge tubs in the rear so you can fit a big tyre in there. Maybe too big for a flat motor. And yup the belt line moulding is very vague on the AMT 40 series with little fading to none on the hood. Makes it a challenge to foil - or just sand it off and go de-chromed

Yeah, Bill, I wanted to keep it looking stock. Even if the cross section is wrong, it will still look like it should from a normal distance and I can do a much easier foil job. Win-win. Maybe I can make one of those tools to scribe the lines on them....🤔.....naaah. too many lines.

That’s just custom trim that’s all.    Remember the rolls of molding you could buy that had double sided tape on the backside.  They came in chrome and black and in different widths.  That’s all this is in scale😀 Next you’ll have to find some scale pinstripe tape and you’ll be set🤪

Uhhh.....yes. I do recall...on the same page as the "chrome door edge guards" and the naked chick chrome mud flaps in the Whitney catalog ( I spent a lot of time with those 🤓)

J.C Whitney and Kmart rash… spent my formative automotive years removing a lot of that stuff from cars.

I wondered where my door edge guards went. 😂<-indicates my statement was funny
