Duddly01 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 This is an older AMT 1956 Thunderbird kit I picked up from a vendor at the SoCal Open Model car show last year. Now that they have re-released the AMT 1956 Thunderbird kit I may have to get another one to make a 1955 Thunderbird if this one goes well. Fiesta Red paint from Scale Finishes, splash paints 2K clear. A photo-etch detail kit and Kelsey Hayes Wire wheels with Wide White pad printed tires from AMT. In case you missed the WIP thread: I decided to take a photo with the 1957 Thunderbird I built last year. 12

I couldn’t decide between Fiesta Red and Peacock blue, I really like both colors for 1956. What made the decision is I have done a bunch of blue builds but not red. 2 hours ago, sak said: Looks good. I like the 56 best myself, only because the 55 has 6 volt system and 56 12v. The stretch of the back for 57 to fit the spare puts it out of proportion IMHO. 1 hour ago, Tom99 said: An excellent build!! Thank You! 5 minutes ago, H.A.K said: Looks good. ncbuckeye67 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Very nice! That paint is amazing, and the photo-etch grille adds a lot of realism.
