1966 Mercury Parklane

 Does anyone know if the '66 Merc will be rereleased by AMT any time soon? I would like to build a '66 Meteor from one.

If you do some digging, one of the previous issue kits should turn up at about the price of the average currently available car kit.

It was last reissued in 2018, not likely to be reissued this year.  Easy to find multiple previous releases from the standard sources.

There's no real way of knowing if/when it will be reissued again.  Each issue is produced in batches of a particular number (say 5,000 at a time).  The last few hundred are where the profit is.  If the most recent production run was slow to sell out, they would be reluctant to issue it again so soon afterwards.  But only Round 2 has the info regarding sales of each item.

I have the 2018 Issue. Great Tires and Decals, but the plastic inside is the same stuff it always was. I like it, but an older kit will get yiu the same parts.

Are you sure you want to build a 66 Meteor? They discontinued that model in 1964 in the US. There is a Canadian Meteor in 1966 but it’s based on the Galaxie.  So maybe that should be your starting point.

Canadian Meteor was based on the Mercury body but the interior was Galaxie based.   You would need both kits plus scratch building for the grille and other trim.
