k357 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 This will be built as a Skylark GS as opposed to a GSX.. Paint is Duplicolor GM Med. Quasar Blue. Met. ..Revell really needs to add the Skylark decals to the kit sheet.. WE had some unexpected expenses this month so I'll be ordering the Skylark decals next month, being retired on a fixed income sucks with only so much in my budget for plastic. 5

Just curious, what Skylark decals are you talking about? I've got this kit in the pipeline and was considering the Model Car Garage photoetch set, which has the Skylark emblems, but I like choices!

I'll have to check them out when I can be OK with spending the price of a kit on detail parts.. That won't be til next month, being on a fixed income sucks.. Anyways she's coming along nicely, I love the Buick factory wheels, I had them on my LeSabre.. Yeah, those wheels look pretty good on the stance mockup pics... 7

It's not cheap but I really like their stuff - been buying it for decades. They usually have enough spare scripts to do an extra car body. It is photoetch, though, and my eyes aren't what they used to be, which always makes application tricky. The mock up is looking good.
espo Posted April 10 Posted April 10 The Buick style roadwheels look great. They were also used on other cars as well, but they always remind me of a Buick when I see them.
k357 Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Thanks folks.. The more I think about it the more I'm going to look for decals instead of photoetch, I have zero experience with PE & I'm no spring chicken anymore, the eyes aint as sharp & I don't want to screw up the paint job.. Anyhow , engine's done & installed. 3
Can-Con Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Looks pretty good but your passenger side valve cover is upside down. The 3 bolt side goes up, 2 bolt down. BTW, I have a 1/1 set of those hanging in my garage. 😁 Don't be afraid of the photoetch though. It's pretty easy to deal with. Just sand the back a bit to scuff it up and put it on with a drop of Tamiya [or other acrylic] clear thinned 50/50 with rubbing alcohol. The clear will completely disappear when it's dry. 1
