hedotwo Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I have this resin chassis that needs the suspension and rear axle donated to complete it. Any ideas where it might have come from? Thanks!
spencer1984 Posted April 11 Posted April 11 (edited) Any of Revell's 1968-1970 or AMT's 1971 Charger kits ought to have everything you need. Edited April 11 by spencer1984

hedotwo Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Is the 71 AMT Charger something that might be available at a Hobby Lobby?
Chris V Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Judging by the slightly offset motor mounts, that chassis is definitely based on Revell's 1968/69 Dodge Charger R/T and 1969 Daytona Charger tooling. Revell's recently reissued 1970 Charger R/T and F&F "Dom's Charger" is very similar but not quite identical, however the suspension parts will likely fit. AMT's 1971 Charger is a different generation, and though the 1:1 parts were largely identical, the model parts will not fit your chassis without considerable modification.

More good info... thanks Chris. Hopefully I can find one at Hobby Lobby or similar. Hate to spend too much for donor parts 😉
Shark Posted April 11 Posted April 11 That is probably not just a straight repop of a common kit, most likely something has been modified for someone to cast it. Do you have the rest of the parts such as a body or just the chassis.

I'm not too concerned with the underside being exact to the 300. Just so it sits right and looks close.

Ditto A cool project Here is a shot of my current 68 charger build. There may be a difference i wheel base between the Charger and the C300 but I can't see where it is on the photo of your chassis when comparing the two. You would need to put them side by side. If the chassis is longer the only mod would be the driveshaft length. The Revell 68 Charger R/T has 2 engine options - Hemi and 440 so that would be my donor car of choice. The Revell 69 Charger only has the 440 - or at least in the ones in my stash The Revell 68 Charger R/T has 2 engine options - Hemi and 440 so that would be my donor car of choice. hedotwo Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Quite a bit of difference in wheelbase between the chargers and the chrysler. I'll stick with just trying to find suspension that'll work with this chassis. I know it'd need a longer driveshaft which is no problem and I'd go with the 440. Thanks

Thanks I’d say the Revell 68-69 Charger kit would supply everything you need and if you wait until next week , Hobby Lobby will have it for 40% off along with all their other models so that would make it worth buying for parts. 3

Thanks to all the great suggestions I went to HL yesterday and picked up the 68 Revell Charger. In addition to all the running gear (which fits perfectly except for the driveshaft which is no worry) and engine I also am able to use the outside door handles and some other bits. And 40% off 😉 Edited April 16 by hedotwo 2
