FORDSVTPARTS Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) The Stealth Vette is close to done, just some detailing to do. I built this one for the Cannonball CBP on another site which should explain the theme of the build. The car is a '67 Vette painted in "borrowed" air force radar absorbing non reflective paint for high speed night running. It wouldn't be invisible but every little bit helps. Traco built 650 hp 427, Big tank of Nitrous for that little extra when you really need it, Viper spec T-56 six speed, 3.27 gears, 40 gallon fuel cell, high output offroad flood lights front and rear, rear is for discouraging any unwanted attention from law enforcement during high speed night time running, All rear lightning is seperately switched to help the car dissappear when needed and the driver has the option of running with night vision gear if needed. MonoPed Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Looks fast, but i doubt it could outrun bullets... Where did the hood, wheels and intake come from?
FORDSVTPARTS Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) Looks fast, but i doubt it could outrun bullets... Where did the hood, wheels and intake come from? The hood and intake came with the kit, the wheels are out of the parts bin and I honestly can't remember what kit they're from. As for outrunning bullets? You can't shoot what you can't see Depending on the situation you could hit the rear spotlight which would ruin anyones aim and destroy their night vision for a few minutes and then switch no night vision and shut off all the lights. With the car painted as it is you wouldn't have much trouble hiding briefly at night until the trouble is past and re-route your drive. Edited May 4, 2009 by FORDSVTPARTS
Foxer Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 GREAT build!!!! that just looks SO right!!! I supposed that's all carbon fiber under the stealthy paint.....
RodneyBad Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Good looking Stealth Vette. You may not see it in time but you'll Surely hear it
FORDSVTPARTS Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 GREAT build!!!! that just looks SO right!!! I supposed that's all carbon fiber under the stealthy paint..... Thanks. I'd go along with that 650hp and a carbon fiber shell, the thing would probably take off.
FORDSVTPARTS Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 You may not see it in time but you'll Surely hear it Ya think?
diymirage Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 i like it but......if it were me i would have build the black lambo (i believe it was a countach) that had the really nice assets love the engine in that vette
DR Dubois Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Almost looks bullet proof!! That's one mean ride I must say.
randx0 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 that is one sweet ride .Until I read Brock Yates book I never knew they really held the race for a couple of years. A good read if you come across it.
FORDSVTPARTS Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) Thanks guys, I'll post an update shortly with air cleaners and a few more details. A couple of the body mods if no one noticed were shaving the rear bumpers and opening the wheel arches to accomodate the oversize tires hanging out of the openings. Edited May 6, 2009 by FORDSVTPARTS

A good read if you come across it. That's a pretty good book, I read it a few years back too. That ambulance used in one of the last races and the movie has to be my favorite in the book too.
FujimiLover Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 i like it but......if it were me i would have build the black lambo (i believe it was a countach) that had the really nice assets love the engine in that vette As a big fan of the movie Cannonnball Run, I've ALWAYS wanted to build a model of the black Countach. It looked mean and awesome with the front wing and extra driving lights. Plus, having a hot driver/co-driver helped alot too! Second movie was just as funny, but not as great on the car choices. Sucked that their white to red Lamborghini broke down before they started the race. I was always hoping for an updated movie useing a Diablo, Lotus Elise, and a few other choice cars. But sadley, Burt Reynolds might be too old for his character, and we just recently lost Dom Delouise, Captain Caous himselfe! R.I.P. Captain Caous!

Hahaha, ever since HPI came out with their Countach body I've wanted to paint one up in all black for my 4-Tec, just not too sure where to look for the 5 hole rims and a 1/10 scale Adrian Barbeau....................... I was always hoping for an updated movie using a Diablo, Lotus Elise, and a few other choice cars. But sadly, Burt Reynolds might be too old for his character, and we just recently lost Dom Delouise, Captain Chaos himself! R.I.P. Captain Chaos! Saw that he passed the other day, it's a shame, I guess he was the one that made Burt Reynolds funny....... I'd love to get a ringtone of him saying Dun..Dun...DUNNNNN, Captain Chaos! some day
FORDSVTPARTS Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Just a couple quick follow up pics, With air cleaners, In the garage,
