I’m asking because the 1/8 scale Honda CBX motorcycle kit arrived today. I would love to have the engine in 1/12 or even 1/6. It would be relatively easy to find existing kit or diecast parts in those scales for building a custom bike.

Thanks, Lee

Once you have the 3D model you can use the slicer to resize to any size you want. There are calculators online you can use to tell you what percentage to use for different scales

That’s cool, but I don’t know about the start of something like this. I don’t have a real CBX engine to measure or scan. I’m wondering if kit parts can be scanned as a start for making parts in another scale.

Short answer is yes, long answer is it depends on the quality of parts you’re using, the scanner and your computer software. Have you tried searching cults3d or thingaverse or one of the other many websites with 3D files first?

Yes, but no luck. Same with the old Indian inline-4. I know it’s on Cults somewhere, but I haven’t found it. Same with a 1/35 black Labrador retriever.

I found one that was close, and injection molded. It was a set of WWII ace pilots, including Johnny Johnson and his black lab. The lab was not included. Later issues mentioned on the box that the dog is not included. I guess they got a lot of complaints.

the indian is available as part of a kit on cults. i think its called 1920s motorcycle or similar. if i remember correctly it was free which should narrow it down.

Hard part there is getting him to stand still long enough to scan.

Safe to say, we can probably rule out a 1/35 scale Jack Russell Terrier...
