dragstk Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I generally work on 2 builds at a time. One is a box stock + (pretty much box build with a few mods.) And I also have a long term project going. As the long term projects go slow (waiting for putty/primer, etc to dry), I work on the box stock. With my current rate of building, its 1 1/2 box stock builds to 1 long term. I have room to keep both on my bench at the same time. And like Bill, I keep notes of where I am, what colors Im using etc 1
bobss396 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I realize that my ADD has caught up to me. I like the early part of a build the best. Making stuff, doing something nobody else <smirk> has done before. It is too easy to go off on a tangent and crack open another one...
Ulf Posted May 9 Posted May 9 One on the table, no more but four or five in progress. I sit at the same table that we eat all meals at and because of that I have to clean up several times during the day which I actually enjoy, sitting alone in my own room does not suit me. I have a cupboard behind me so it's not a big job to clear the table, another upside is that it's always close to the construction table.
Leon Cream Posted May 13 Posted May 13 If I'm building out of the box I might pull three or so body's out and prep and paint them one after the other. Then go back and fourth building drivetrains, chassis and interiors. This usually works out on box stock builds because if I have fitment issues it's usually the sub assembly that is modified to fit rather than the body itself. Id rather grind or trim a chassis plate or interior tub than the body. This also allows adequate time for paint to cure. When attempting anything more complex than a box stock builds I think one at a time is enough for me. Currently have AMT 69 Torino Cobra, revell 66 Chevelle SS, Lindberg little red wagon, AMT '60 corvette, Revell '55 Chevy street machine and Revell visible V8. Got a bit hectic and am currently just working on finishing the Torino. 1
bobss396 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I took 5 projects to a club meeting last night. I'm thinking of breaking one out of the pack just to get the 1st one done in over a year. 1
