Duddly01 Posted Saturday at 06:01 PM Posted Saturday at 06:01 PM (edited) Just completed the build on the Revell 1962 Volkswagen 23 Window Samba Bus. Paint is Scale Finishes correct Blue-White over Teal Green topped off with Splash paints 2K clear. The multi-piece body was quite a chore to get to fit together well and I did assemble the body and modify the chassis before painting. I could never have gotten it to fit afterwards per the instructions. I also made a match surfboard to go with it. if you missed the WIP thread you can check it out here: Edited Saturday at 06:07 PM by Duddly01 4
DJMar Posted Saturday at 06:35 PM Posted Saturday at 06:35 PM She's an absolute beauty! The color scheme is perfect. As usual, I dig the LED lighting, and that surfboard is a great touch. Also, you work fast. I'm still sanding mold lines on mine. 1

I actually thought this one took me quite awhile at just over 6 weeks. 😀 I can’t actually take credit for the color combination, this was my daughter’s choice to go with blue-white over Teal Green. I would have gone with Ivory over Seal Wax red. The whole build was her idea. She slipped the kit in my cart a while back when we were picking up supplies at my local hobby shop and said I had to build it, SOON! 😁 The license plate is actually her nickname and favorite number. 1

OldSkool81 Posted Saturday at 09:08 PM Posted Saturday at 09:08 PM Beautiful!!! And the correct yellowish tint of the LEDs instead of pure white gives it that extra realism!!!! 1

Street Rod Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM What a cool build, very clean! I like the color choice and the surf board is a great touch. 1

espo Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Beautiful paint and trim finishes. The lighting and interior trim are all very realistic looking. Enjoyed watching the attention to detail while following your build. 1

May need to build a race car that doesn’t have lights to throw them off! 😉 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted 47 minutes ago Posted 47 minutes ago That looks amazing! I may now be inspired to dig out my Revell VW camper.
